Can't believe I beat CBFC to this, but there was a nice article on espn page 2 about Chucky Brown's wanderings where he says Rudy was one of the best coaches he has played for. http://espn.go.com/page2/s/brown/010221.html ------------------ "Someday I'd like to do something really meaningful with my life. This is a great peice and an excellent perspective on the man . . .. Excellent Quotes: Maybe losing so much hurt more because of my experiences in Houston. My best playing experience was with the Rockets, mostly because I won a championship there. After riding the ups and downs of a season, earning a championship made it all worthwhile. And the weather in Texas didn't hurt matters. I liked my teammates and the friendly atmosphere of the city, and I was treated well. and The best coaches I've played under are Rudy Tomjanovich and Chuck Daly, who were both very fair. They always gave me an opportunity to play. And if someone worked hard, he got rewarded. I cant believe you beat me to it either. That is best piece of writing I have ever seen in my life. I think he should turn it into a book. Everyone, check it out, seriously, it is a cool piece. Thanks a ton for the tip SP -- Chucky should be signing with the Cavs for the rest of the year either today or tomorrow, unless something goes down. which it always does, so who knows. But hopefully not. Did you see the other night when Barkley said Riley, Phillip and Rudy are the best NBA coaches? Everyone loves Rudy. CBFC ------------------ Join the Chucky Brown Fan Club
My pleasure, CBFC, even though Clutch gave all the front page glory to someone else. Somehow that is fitting for a post on Chucky. Aside from the opening paragraph where he talks about being the last person in the locker room to know that he was traded, my favorite quote is when he talking about the hassle of moving all the time: "I'm not complaining, though. With the money I make, I can put up with a lot of bull." Finally, an NBA player with some perspective. ------------------ "Someday I'd like to do something really meaningful with my life. No disrespect intended. I had a busy day and had it in my email so just credited who passed it along. I added your name to the "SCOOP" list... It was a very cool article. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
What a great guy! If he doesn't come back to Houston, I hope he hooks up with the Knicks. He deserves it in my book. ------------------ Time is a great teacher-- only problem is it kills all its pupils. PowerbizOnline.com

Wow, Chucky is a very well spoken guy! For some reason, I was always under the impression that he was stupid... maybe it was the missing teeth, or something... what a great read. Good to see he knows how good he had it here in Houston, and is talking about it. Somebody should send this article to Webber's personal email. ------------------ "Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching."
I think people thought him stupid because of Gold Tooth. Chucky is inspirational I like the fact that he stated that Rudy rewards hard work. That is great. Because he gives the lil guy a chance Rocket River ------------------ [This message has been edited by Rocket River (edited February 22, 2001).]
And, because he was starting, that meant Chilcutt got just enough time on the court in game 7 to block a Dan Marjerle runner in the lane. Chilcutt actually jumped for a block that night. I was amazed. Chucky made it all possible. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
