Harden was the only Rocket to make a shot in the ENTIRE 1st quarter

What a cop out excuse from Harden.

So because his ankle was messed up he came in 20+ lbs overweight? The dude cannot do any cardio from an ankle sprain? Can't diet?

Lets just say it for what it actually is. He got lazy over the summer. Came in overweight, failed training camp, and together with McHale led to the debacle of the season start.

 

Yeah, because Harden is making them miss WIDE OPEN SHOTS. Jesus. That team missed more open shots in that first quarter than the warriors made on contested shots.

 

Harden is a great player, he's not the problem. The supporting cast and the lack of system that helps everyone including supporting cast is the problem.

 

How can someone who plays atrocious defense at the level of Harden not be part of the problem. Even if we ignore his historical volume of turnovers how can you just flat out ignore his atrocious defense?

 

I agree with you DD, I would like to see others doing more, being threats on the floor like SA, BUT, on this current roster who do you trust with the ball to make a play? Spurs have, Parker, Leonard, Aldridge, Duncan, even Green can put it on the floor a little bit and get around the court. Mills, west, and Manu off the bench are even very capable. We don't have that luxury with our cast of players.

I'm hoping we get at least 3 new players on the roster this summer with Howard's money and all 3 can score and play make. They don't all need to be superstars, just solid consistent players we can trust to show up every night. Last night was tough to watch. Must win game and Harden is the only one that scores a basket? Wow, just WOOOOW!

 

But hard is the problem I thought.

In the beginning it got tough and he showed up while everyone else quit

 

Is that Harden's fault. His teammates get plenty of open looks that they shoot at a miserable clip. How is moving the ball around going to solve the fact that they can't hit open shots.

 

We need to surround him with fellow playmakers and shot creators.
Right now we have Harden doing everything, two "3 and D" guys that have regressed in both, a productive post player who we never go to in the post, and (we had) a still top 5 center in the league who we have solely relegated to being a rebounder and defender, again where he regressed in both.

Nobody else on the team can playmake, nobody else on the team can create their own shot except Beasley. Hell, nobody on the team can ****ing shoot or play defense as is.

What a disaster.

 

Harden was -17 in the first quarter. boy was he the problem right. #+/-

 

For many...this is not a day of logic. That much is clear.

 

Like a microcosm of the whole season. Harden pulling the whole team, nobody else pulling. Warriors weren't even playing spectacular ball but for this series all they had to do was show up for each other. Believe in the team.

They need a coach or system that doesn't ask harden to drop 30 pts and 10 assists to win. Just because he is capable of it, you still don't run a team like that. Got away with it last year. This year not so much. Please don't try it one more time and fall shorter than this year did!

Some pro level offensive players wouldn't hurt. No buckets for a whole quarter in a do or die playoff game. Blow. It. Up.

 

How this happen on a professional basketball team?

The ball hits Terry in the face and rolls out of bounds. . . .

Is that turn over on Harden or Terry?

Great. But just a red herring, doesn't cover up Harden's issues as well. He's definitely not a consummate professional. In fact he's going more towards the immature diva route. He's got 2 roads to go down. To disaster, or to a true cornerstone player. which one will he choose?

 

LOLOLOL, if the other Rockets could make a ****ing shot.... Harden would probably avg double digit assists every night, it's a joke when the defense collapses on him he passes to a wide open player only for them to screw-up on the catch or miss the wide open shot.

People basically expect him to somehow magically enable his team to make wide-open shots, not turn the ballover and play for 48 mpg (Yeah he has defensive lapses, but the Rockets don't even help with that). As soon as he is not in the game the Rockets become worse than the 76ers who are actually trying to tank.

Also... Just take out Harden's line and the Rockets lose by like 60 last night, rofl. Houston needs to figure out how to add a legit star to harden and actual role players with a coach.

 

Oh.... and Harden has to basically play PG and SG at the same time, the ****ing rockets outside of Harden are a joke. Harden showed up to play in the game and the rest of the Rockets didn't know the game started.

 

Game was over when they decided to post Dwight.
