sorry guys, i know most of you like the black jersey idea but i think they look to much like the heat and the spurs. we are trying to forge a NEW identity, not look like everyone else. like 'em or not the new unis ARE unique.
Red jersey inspired by the Logo Billboards. Yet two other attempts at the retro jersey. (Only had time for the back ) I was actually hoping for a dual red jersey when I first saw the billboards. But having a third jersey with a new color/shade kind of throws off the "consistency" Tim mentioned right? I also believe the third jersey should have the new logo on it somewhere, anywhere! Opinions anyone: Should the third jersey's be limited to the three colors (white, red, gray) already used? (BTW, anyone know of free hosting that allows image linking? )

Oh God please no! No more Ketchup & Mustard colored McDonalds jerseys! Hideous! However, the black/red/silver ones look pretty sharp! I like the starter concept there. Also earlier in the thread I liked the Silver jerseys with red trim. That was a good take on a 3rd alternate jersey and is very much keeping with the theme of our new colors. Whatever they do, just please do NOT mix the Mustard color in with red. Enough is enough!
this is the first time ive had a chance to post on bbs and i gotta say this third jersey stuff is petty. when the team is winning, they know who you are and where you are from so it doesnt matter if it says houston. besides once the season starts, you all will have forgotten about this. plus how many black jerseys does sports need? there is just too many!
Man, I thought it would be at least a month before there were complaints about the jerseys... Then again, I guess we wouldn't want to be confused with that other NBA team called the Rockets.
Don't tell the NBA that... it's just another way for them to take advantage of mom & pop when the kids go around begging for yet another jersey. ... waiting for the NBA to draft the proposition that teams must have 14 different jerseys : a road and an away for each day of the week!.
Teams can't add 3rd alternate jerseys until they played at least 2 full seasons with their normal 2 jerseys.
exactly.. but the black/red jersey more looks like the alternate chicago bulls jersey. we got to be unique.. standing out from the crowd. the original two did it. and if ever we are going to have an alternate, that should also stand above the rest.
Prove it. I just spent an hour looking online for a rule that says that...and failed. If you have one that agrees with what you say, prove it. Otherwise, I will stick with what I heard here recently...that we cant get a alternate uni until after the first year. Which means that the Rockets could unveil one next season. but...this is just a vague recollection, I cant even remember who said it...so if you can prove me wrong, do it...otherwise, shut your pie hole.
I know Bryan Colangelo said it during an online chat on suns.com a while ago. That's the reason why Phoenix is getting 3rd alternate jerseys this season. (Maybe it was even 3years playing) They have introduced their last jerseys 2 or 3 seasons ago. This is from an old az republic article that isn't online anymore.
IMO too many teams have black in their jerseys.. It wouldn't be the ideal colour to go for even though it may look good.. the only sensible option is silver/grey because its the only other colour in the jersey.. and slinslin, you'd think the 'head' marketing person from the rockets team would know if they could bring in another jersey or not..
Okay, so is Tim afraid to post in this thread or something? This whole thing has been a shout out to you, yet you've avoided responding in any way. Must not have really meant that statement about lobbying for a 3rd jersey just like 98% of the press-statement-type posts you've posted thus far. But it's okay, I've learned long ago not to rely on information you've offered (see also: Toyota Center Test Drive lies that wasted 40 of my dollars driving down to Houston for the sole purpose of getting behind the scenes). Feel free to tell me off because I would really like to hear that I'm wrong and that you are a reliable source of information
