Because Dwight sucking up all our salary was a huge hit to us in terms of this team's ability to acquire other good players.
Harden is pretty much Carmelo Anthony Carmelo was also one of the best pure scorers in the league a few years back If you watched the Knicks the past few seasons before Porzingod, it was everyone standing around and watching Carmelo iso ball. Carmelo also doesn't know how to play OFF THE BALL. Doesn't know how to play defense. Conserves his energy on defense, focuses only on offense. Carmelo took the Nuggets to the WCF Carmelo not good enough to be the #1 option on a Championship team. Would be a perfect #1 however. Sound familiar?
Just.......stop.......please. Let's see our options. Post up Dwight? No. Let Ariza shoot a 3? No. Let Bev continue to jack up 3's? No. Post up D-Mo? Harden IS our only option right now. If you have a problem with the system like everyone else does that's one thing, if you have a problem with the coaching that's understandable. For the love of everything just stop about Harden. You're embarrassing yourself.
It's Harden's fault specially those players with stat like 1-7. 1-8,1-5 ,3-11, he should not pass the ball period
and which happens to be the best on this team. that should tell you something about how "talented' this team is.
It is not important if it is Melo or Harden. Most local fans are too overprotective of their stars, I can understand. In LA or NY those stars would be on a trade pedestal much sooner.
I'm not sure what the point here is. No one is denying that Harden is the best player on the team. The problem is last year he played at an MVP level, this year he is playing at a bubble All-Star level and maybe not even 3rd team all NBA at guard. So we're basically a team with zero superstars.
Maybe if he's teammates didn't suck so much he doesn't have to force his plays and expend his energy all the time, leading to inefficient plays. BTW, his regular season numbers are at the Superstar level, it's just that the team record is what holding him back. AND YES, team performance depends how all players play, not just one guy.
Last year role players like Prigioni, Jones, Smith and Brewer bailed him out in the Clips series when it mattered the most He sat a lot in crunch time.
Only if you look at the volume counting stats. Look at ORtg, drtg, plus/minus and it's one of the worst years of his career. Hes also getting to the rim at the lowest rate of his career, turning it over at the highest rate of his career and giving the least effort on defense in his career
His regular season wasn't superstar level. Why do you think he might not make 3rd team all NBA? This team was designed to have defenders surrounding him. He carries the offense and the defense plays elite was the plan. It worked last year.
And those stats are not dependent on the TEAM PERFORMANCE? maybe the guy earning the most salary on this team should have stepped up and gave Harden some help. maybe.
