Absolutely. The way they carry themselves is night and day. Aside from his teammates from 35 years ago, he has no ones back. I think he respects KG and that's it.

    Exactly.

And I didn't make the name of the soundbite , which is the name of the thread.

That's like these fools listening to "When Doves Cry" and getting pissed that they didn't hear any doves cry.

Uh, swyyyguy came into this thread with the sole intention to find a reason to troll tinman.

This is a great find of McHale and Dwight talking. swyyyguy brought nothing to the thread but trolling.

btw: I don't see why we'd say this is "rare, insightful" talk from McHale. I find he talks straight more than most coaches, and combined with his TV job, he's great. Nice to have an ex-coach explain the pros and cons of dumping it into Dwight.

I also think they don't listen to nba sirius radio, not that many do here.

    but i do.

I could careless about the title, it is what is. I didn't make it up.

Dwight is basically on a decline.

Might have been better to keep Asik and bring in another big bruiser (most likely Eastern Euro Big Man) to come play here. Would of had the cap space to get other pieces to compliment Harden.

Good find, but very misleading title - no surprise considering the OP

AND it's pretty apparent the common issue with the Magic, the Lakers and now the Rockets is DUN DUN... Dwight Howard. Chemistry suffers everywhere he goes. It's an obvious pattern.

During the regular season, Dwight was 14th in the total number of post-up possessions, but was below league average at points per possession (0.88ppp, 45.3 percentile) and had highest turnover rate (16.5%) among players with similar number of post-up trys. These are called facts, not agenda.

McHale is a pretty good coach in reality. He's going to get another shot.

I respect DHo for what KMc said. Howard was out of rhythm and did what he was best able at the time.

    Applaud him for it.

Sure, he is declining. Yet, he will be an asset for his next team.

NOBODY is an asset on this squad. JBB is unfairly tarnished by not being godlike with this group.

This is the unhappiest I've bee as a Rox fan in my 30+ years of fanhood.

Ehh. MOST people understood this, but...

There was/is a pretty vocal group who were positive that getting the ball to Dwight more, essentially any way possible, was the way to go.

Something along the lines of "he's shooting his best percentage ever, he needs the ball more" and they failed to realize his high shooting percentage was aided greatly by NOT forcing him the ball in situations he clearly can't handle anymore.

You're asking people to listen to the OP and read the comments before making their knee jerk reactions to whatever stimuli caught their ADHD-addled minds... You've been around here long enough to know you're asking too much

You don't have to feed him the ball to score. Why is that so hard for people to understand? Having him on the court for absolutely nothing is not using him properly either. He doesn't have to go one-on-one on the block to be effective. It's called inside-outside basketball. THAT'S how you involve Dwight. Not by force feeding him the ball to score...that's not what anyone is asking of him. Dwight killed it in the first half because we moved the ball, we drove, and threw it up for him to throw it down.

Watch the second half. Dwight got position in the second half, but couldn't see the ball to save his life. That's not on Dwight. That's on James and the rest of his team.

We did this all season. Dwight's best games came in the first half, then we stopped trying to find him. It makes no sense and you can see the frustration on Dwight's face. I don't blame him.

First of all, there are number of people on this forum claiming for months now that Dwight needs more touches in the paint, so you're just wrong on that point straight-up.

And who disagrees with your second part? Everybody says Dwight should be more active in PnR and roll hard to the basket so he can score more easily that way. It just didn't happened in the last game because we were getting slaughtered by GSW with barrage of 3s, and players felt they need to respond with their 3s to even things out. You could argue whether that was right or wrong thing to do, but just going to Dwight wouldn't have erased our point deficit when GSW was scoring like 40 points in a quarter.
