ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Warriors 4/27/2016 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 5)

This is the scary scene I keep seeing in my head lately. The Warriors going off on the Rockets again. IF Beverley can't go and JB goes with starting Terry instead of matching Livingston height at the PG position then the team will lose. Terry should be coming off the bench not starting on Thursday.

 

gut this team after tomorrow. Enough is enough.

 

We all know JBB is an idiot on coaching.

The only way to win Warriors is tough defense!!!

Defense of Terry or Brewer is close to ZERO this season.
I don't know what the ****ing use of Terry playing over 30 minutes.

 

Pathetic.

What a good chance, but...

This season is totally destroyed by bad coaching!!!

I hate this organization. I hate JBB!!!

 

This is not the end yet.

 

Sad part is that the door is wide open to conf finals. Curry hurt. Paul out.
Too bad this team is a mess.

 

Too bad Yao got hurt and Mac became useless in the playoffs 2009 otherwise could have gotten the best of the Lakers, Kobe and Gasol.

Could have made a run to the Finals.... well well, you know.

 

But this Rockets team is healthy aside from Bev. They really did squander a golden opportunity. Not that the Warriors are pushovers without Curry, but you could not have asked for a better path to the WCF if you were the 8th seed. A Warriors team with Curry only available for 4 quarters over 2 different games(including one in Houston). And either a Clippers team sans Paul(and possibly Griffin) or a young, inexperienced Blazers squad.

Instead we're likely looking at a first round knockout. I hope all of these injuries to Western Conference opponents somehow lights a spark in these guys. A Game 5 win really could change everything.

 

This season was destroyed by Morey bringing in Lawson, and the players just not wanting to play. Of course then Les and Morey panic after eleven games and the Rockets became the laughing stock of the league.

However, it would be fun and hilarious to see the Rockets win the next three games. The Rockets are already the most hated team in the league. The national media would melt down if the Rockets somehow won this series.

We can't pile on Morey for Lawson. Everyone loved that move at the time. And it didn't even cost the Rockets anything aside from a draft pick we all assumed would be meaningless. Hell, Morey even managed to talk Lawson into giving up the last year of his deal(was Ty drunk at the time?).

The players not giving a damn however is something that I still can't quite understand. How a team goes from the WCF to mailing it in from the beginning of training camp is beyond me.

2009 had the talent to go all the way and the injury bug hits

2015 team had good talent to at least bother GSW a little but was not good enough for the Finals

This year we got everyone together except for Bev, but we got bad chemistry, bad D and an amateur-ish coach.

Something is always missing.

 

I thought about this but don't they take the same time off regardless of if it goes to game 7 or they finish in earlier?

how does the rim ignore dwight's free throws? that's all that they hit.

 

I honestly think we are going to win this one. Come back to Houston, and its 50/50. I know its hard, but we got to have faith.

 

Rockets by 35. Klay Thompson goes down with an eye injury. Green gets ejected in a fight with Harden. Dwight gets hacked and goes 10/25.

 

If Ariza and Terry can get hot for 1 game and bring it back home

* Start KJ and let him mirror Livingston's minutes.
* Have Ariza mirror Klay's minutes.
* Have DMo mirror Greene's minutes.
* Have Capella mirror Speights minutes.
* Bring Bev off the bench if he's available to play and put Beasley in when Greene is out of the game.

We can't have Bev or Terry out there when Livingston is playing. He scores 6-10 points on jumpers over those guys which have been back breakers during the past games.

Limit the dumb turnovers on breaks when there's nothing there. Hold on to the ball and run your plays.

We do all these and we win the series.
