here are my points, as short and simple as possible... 1) We don't know how much EG smokes up. Do we know he's really a pothead, or just lights up once in a while to relieve stress or whatever the reason. The key, like anything (pot, alcohol, sex, candy bars, t.v., red meat, cursing, sleeping, etc...) is MODERATION!!!!!!! 2) As long as it doesn't affect EG's play, it shouldn't matter (althought I suspect it might be, or something is, cause he is just not living up to potential). 3) Weed is illegal because of propoganda (the drug war), misinformation (weed was attributed to murders, rapes, etc. back in the day), racism (weed was used as an excuse to control blacks and kick out mexicans during the depression), and profits (look at the "Partnership for a Drug-Free America" -- BULLS**T! that's a lobbying arm for pharmeceutical companies who view mar1juana as competition and spend millions, if not billions, trying to keep it illegal). There's a lot more but I said short and simple. 4) Like it's been stated, pot (in moderation) is harmless compared to other vices in our society (alcohol, tobacco, unprotected sex, automobiles and cellphones, etc.). RESPONSIBILITY is the key issue here. and that means moderation and education, not incarceration and misinformation. 5) Grass has been around for a very LOOOONG time. Only in the last few decades have we suddenly decided that it's "bad". And what about all the other uses of mar1juana that have been banned because of these inconsistent and irrational laws...legal hemp would put the tree-cutting and forest-destroying paper industry out of business...but would help save our environment and make the world a better place for future generations. sorry, i guess not so short and simple after-all. quite a contentious and controversial issue indeed. pro-choice!! go Rockets!!!
Unfortunately, that law (prohibition) creates a laundry list of problems that could be alleviated by moving to strong regulation of recreational pharmaceuticals.
Geez. I come in here to find out what happened to Eddie in court and I see a bunch of DARE influenced ignorant people bashing MJ. Get over it! Now does anyone know the outcome of EG's court visit?
how 'bout this? "In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the woman." (Tony to Manny) from Scarface, 1983
tim duncan,shaq,kobe..........I would let them smoke all the weed they wanted, but soft as EG is that should be the last thing on his mind.
Don't you guys ever look at some of these replies and wonder about how normal it's become to smoke pot? Doesn't it bother you that so many people are on drugs? That it's so readily available and that it will get even worse once legalized? What about kids? Will you tell your kids that you were a druggie? Would you want YOUR kids to grow up with legalized drugs and with so many friends who smoke pot? Just because something is LEGAL, doesn't mean it's ok to do it. It just means no one CARES that you're doing it. Oh, and more importantly, just because something IS good, doesn't make it a good thing. No one will deny that Drugs and alcohol are soo damn good, but that doesn't mean they're not bad for you, hence why the hell do we still do it if we know it's messed up?
If you look at facts, figures, and statistics, we are likely to see a small uptick in reported usage rates as people who were previously too paranoid to answer honestly would start, but that after a time usage rates would decrease rather significantly. It happened that way after alcohol prohibition and usage rates for mar1juana use in Holland are some of the lowest in the world. I will tell my kid(s) I used drugs as it will give me credibility on the subject that lying to them will not. I would prefer that my kids grow up in a system that actually makes it DIFFICULT for children to acquire drugs as opposed to the black market which gives kids easier access than adults. If anyone is to have access to drugs in our society, it should be our adults (who are capable of making a reasoned, rational decision) and not our kids (who can't). We agree here, which is why I would set up an education system that fully prepares people for drug (including alcohol) use. In addition, health care professionals would care in my system as they would be responsible for monitoring usage rates and performing interventions to try to get help for people who have a problem. We do drugs for a myriad of reasons, none simple enough to just criminalize it and wash our hands of the people involved. This issue could be a relatively minor, self financing molehill, but our current policy drops the mountain on Mohammed. Strong regulation of the most dangerous chemicals in the world is the only policy that will minimize societal harms and make the drug users finance their own treatment. The number one goal above all else should be to make it somewhere between difficult and impossible for kids to acquire drugs. I think I have a plan to do just that and it was posted in a thread a while back called Regulated Drug Use in the D&D forum (I will edit once I find the link). EDIT: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63243
I think the most important thing is that it doesn't become "normal" like smoking and drinking has become. Unfortunately, it's reaching that point very quickly. I'm just glad I didn't have to go through all this while I grew up.
check this page out... http://www.linuxlots.com/~fawcett/buzz-excerpt.html it seems acholol doe not significately kill brain cells afterall

Yep, we let the Franchise off the hook for his bumps in the road. If Eddie would get the lead out of his Reeboks, then maybe we wouldn't be blowing smoke up his...Wait, its too late for that he already smoked it all!! _______________________ Bottom line________ All the players make mistakes similar to this one, but why are all there mistakes coming around to be illegal. I dont get that one, but if he performs up to new high standard of improvemnt that we have set for him; then we'll be gravy baby!!
