The coaching weaknesses of this team were all too evident when twice we could not simply imbound a pass (after timeouts) to secure a victory. Bring on JVG!!!
I've always had this feeling listening to him that he'd like to coach here again. It takes two to tango, though.
This made me search for the Ryan Bowen appreciation thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=119421&page=3 Can't believe it's been 10 years since Flying Ryan Bowen!!!
I remember when he decided to let JVG go the first time he talked about wanting a fast paced offense like what D'Antoni was running in Phoenix. The guy is a tool. He doesn't understand that if you don't play to your players' strengths you will not get to the big dance.
I know. The coach must be a complete idiot if he's drawing up a play where the objective is for Ariza to throw the ball to the other team.
JVG's defense is what we need... no? We already score enough points. He won't play anyone who doesn't defend. I think he's a great fit plus he's the only member of the media who actually likes us...
Are you saying Sura was a bad personnel move???? That guy was awesome for us. He would be the second best player on this year's team.

good. he provides the type of leadership this team is sorely lacking and i have more than enough faith that his time behind the mic has shown him how important a strong offensive philosophy is in today's NBA.
[rQUOTEr]... The first step will be to start a coaching search. Interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff will be considered and will have a chance to discuss what sort of changes he would make with a training camp and a retooled roster. Similar conversations will be held with former Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy. Van Gundy has been happy with his role as the lead analyst on ESPN and ABC games, but he has shown interest in returning to coaching. He would prefer to remain in his adopted hometown of Houston, but he'd place the priority on a working relationship with Rockets general manager Daryl Morey and owner Leslie Alexander. Recycle Van Gundy? No bridges were burned in the years after Van Gundy was let go, but Alexander will want to be certain Van Gundy will move to an uptempo offense with an emphasis on 3-point shooting. Though the Rockets are not far enough in the process to have defined a list or even a strategy for a search beyond researching potential candidates, according to two individuals familiar with the discussions, Van Gundy is considered likely to be a starting point. His former Rockets assistant Tom Thibodeau would have been pursued, but the Rockets did not lose him to Minnesota because the search has been put on hold in the postseason. Knowing the Rockets' job would soon be open, Thibodeau chose the Timberwolves' young talent and the authority he was given. Former Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks, a guard in the Rockets' first championship season, was considered a candidate, though not a favorite before taking over the similarly positioned Washington Wizards. The Rockets will reach out to many others, though the search is not expected to be anywhere near as exhaustive and protracted as when Kevin McHale was chosen to succeed Adelman. The choice of coach and the system he would run likely will be the only piece of information Dwight Howard will need before deciding whether to return for the final season of his contract. ... http://www.houstonchronicle.com/spo...pursue-overhaul-for-the-long-haul-7380251.php[/rQUOTEr]
Why would the search not be exhaustive? This point is way more crucial than it was when we were looking to rebuild in 12-13 before Harden came...can we start calling Leslie Moronic? Fast pace and threes, good luck with that...
Seriously. What idiot would think that a fast pace and threes would work in today's nba? We should run a slow tempo mid range only game like the warriors
No idea why they wouldn't do an exhaustive search. Unless Les is so obsessed with getting a "big name" in which case his options are narrowed. In fact, JVG may really be the only one left.
