Nike signed with kobe and one other guy...there is no more room for Nike. I think Yao may sign with Adidas. I think Adidas is a better choice anyway, because they are more well known internationally.

Nike has Yao under contract for the time being. The contract is suppose to end sometime within the near future.

Paraphrased from a nike rep, we are not promoting yao because he's only under contract for a short time. We are not going to promote someone who we don't know for sure is going to be with us.

I seriously doubt that Adidas is bigger than Nike on an international spectrum. Nike is definatly globalized.

    No more room for Nike?

I think Phil Knight has gazillions of dollars. He might able to sign Yao also.

Nike screwed the pooch bigtime on this one!!!

RBKs quality is nowhere near Nike!!!

    I am Heated!

RBK needs to use some of that money to snag designers from Nike and use better tech and materials!

    Reebok is popular in Asia,
    Adidas in Europe,
    and NIKE in the US.

Reebok is NOT popular in Asia.

People in the Middle East prefer Adidas.

Southeast Asia is NOT the equivalent of Asia. The Middle East is NOT its own continent and it DOES lie in Asia.

I have to agree. Nike screwed up big time. The return of invest for Yao is gigantic, even compared to LeBron. Nike already got Bryant and T-Mac. Will LeBron be much better than Braynt and T-Mac? Unlikely. Will Yao be very popular in Asia and America? Definitely!

    T-Mac is on Adidas.
Nike got Kobe, Lebron, and Mello is on Jordan.

Lets hope Nike outbids them tomorrow!

amn u guys dont know jack about kicks (tmac on nike). common!!

anyhow, nike missed out cuz they tried to gamble and not market yao big time. they had yao for one more year (his rookie year) and then they were gonna resign him. they didnt want to do any comercials for him because they didnt want him to blow up so they can sign him for cheap.

but they messed up cuz yao blew up with the visa, apple and gatorade comercials.

plus yao was dissapointed that they didnt make him his own line of shoes. (this is what i read).

    yes cat is with nike

    griff is with addidas

    and winks with reebok.

nike makes garbage shoes. the only thing they are holding on to are the retros. all their retros are hot (AF1, dunks.......and of course the infamous JORDAN line).
their recent shoes look like ****, they are ****, thats why TD and KG left them.

REEBOK is going to blow up!! they are the sole provider for nba in 2004 and they just signed the 64 year old SONNY VACCARO!!!
if you dont know who this is then check out

    peace out

:mad:I dont care who you sign.
You need quality product, tech, and design to impress me.
Have you seen the new Iversons!
    Hideous!!!

You think RBK will blowup because they outbid Nike on the NBA Contract?

True Nike makes money on past glories but that is because they are well deserved.

Why? Nike is not likely to market Yao as hard as Reebok will. With Nike, Yao will have to share the air time with Kobe, Lebron. But with Reebok, he is the guy! As long as Reebok makes some nice shoes for Yao, I am all for it.

have u seen the new paul pierce, dirks, staudamire....they are all wack. the atr line is sick and reebok has the up and comin players

    k-mart
    j-rich
    francis
    baron
    and of course AI

plus reebok is trying to appeal the the hip hop community, i dont know if you like that or not, but that gives them street credit. the signing of jay z was big (fastest and most sold shoe in footlocker and reebok history!!)

    the ATR collection is great!

i have over 30 pairs of nike (over 20 of jordans) and though i love nike and especialy jordans, i have to say that nike's quality sucks.
i have already sent back 3 jordans and 1 airmax 95 because of manufacture defects (squeeking and the airmax and paint coming off the jordans.) trust me, i dont use my shoes what they are intended for. i walk flat footed so they dont crease and i put the beat down on any1 who riverdances on my kicks!! even my girl!!

anyhow, i own a pair up the winks xbeams and i love playin basketball in them. they are very comfertable and support your ankles very well.

so its like i said, either you dont know much about kicks or maybe u just a RBK hata
