Win tonight and we can start seriously talking about Playoff possibilities.

Lose tonight and we can start talking Lottery.

    Big-time.....tonight.....get excited.

This game is big, but one game can't make or break your season, unless it is your last and you have to win to get in. I do think the Rockets should look at this game that way.

Man, an influx of Jr Members

    Well Juneya
I think this game is important
but no more so than the rest of these
this season. If we can knock Minn
down and gain on them fine. . .but
if we don't handle business for the
rest of the season . . it don't mean
    sh*t

A win in this game would be VERY big though! Knocking off Minnesota would mean that we win a game that I don't expect us to win - that'd make the playoff picture 1 game easier, of course it's still a long road and the team needs to perform pretty well the rest of the way to get there!

    GO ROCKETS!

I have to agree with Jr. to a lesser degree. This game is huge. The T-Wolves are one of the teams we might be fighting with at the end of the season for the 8th pay off spot.

Also our last game of the season is against the Wolves and that might be the game that ultimately decides if we make the playoffs of not. A win tonight would give us a huge confidence boost against these guys and get a big monkey off of our backs.

On the other hand this is a game that I penciled in as a loss a couple of weeks ago. I beleive a win would be a huge boost for us but a loss would not be the end of the world and would not take us out of the play off race.

I agree that this is a huge game, but it will not make or break our season. After all the weak Eastern conference games, we finally get a chance to test our new winning abilities against a real team, and one that is on a hot streak in that. A win tonight would go a long way for this team, giving them the confidence they need. I believe if we win tonight, it will carry over to Portland for another. If we lose, it will be interesting to see how they react against Portland.

Thanks for the welcomes. I check here all the time (often I cite you guys on my posts over at CNNSI).

IMHO, this game is like a technical barrier in the stock market. This team has GOT to prove it can win these types of games to itself. If not (even though they won't admit it), they are pretenders for the time being. If they win it, they're smack dab in the middle of the hunt.

To borrow from Jim Fassel, it's time for the Rocks to ante up and throw all their chips to the middle of the table.

Play ball boys....play ball. Someone give me a "Hell Yeah".

    Interesting Stat

Of all the Western Conference teams challenging for the 8th spot in the play-offs the Rockets are the only one with a loosing record against the West. Ouch. That is going to make our task of making the play-offs that much harder. Who do we hold a tiebreaker against? The Mavs? Anyone else? IMHO that makes tonight’s game even that much more important. We need to flex our muscles against some western teams if we hope to own any tiebreakers.

I cannot tell you how much I would like a W tonight. We would end the six game losing streak we have against the Wolves and also prove we're not going to settle for the lottery! BIG GAME!!!

If Steve gets 27 and Cuttino gets 41 they will both be at 20.0 ppg on the year .

    Now Moestavern,

I wonder where you got that stat from? HMMMMMM?

I do think this game will tell all, if we win we have a shot at the playoffs, a loss, and I don't think we can get there.

    DHR,
I don't think I would call a four game skid being hot. Isn't that what the T-pups are dealing with right now?

Sorry I have to say that this game is definitely a back-breaker if we lose. You see, if we win this one, then we've proven that we've actually grown. It will give them a different mentality, that "Minnesota doesn't own us anymore, and if we can change that, we can do the same with everyone else". Trust me, a win tonight would be an INCREDIBLE morale-booster. But a loss would be the exact opposite. They'd begin to slowly stop beleiving in themselves, lose confidence. My fingers are crossed, cause THIS is where we see the difference.

The Rockets need this game, because look at what they've done against other playoff contenders.
    1-2 against Denver
    0-2 against Utah
    1-3 against LaL
    0-2 against Portland
    0-2 against MINNESSOTA
    0-3 against San Antonio
    1-1 against Seattle
    1-1 against Phoenix
A combined record of 4-16 against these playoff teams. That is just not good enough.

You like apples? Minnesota, how do you like them apples? Here we come West. 3 to go and we're going to do it. Just wish Phoenix would have lost. I wish we played them next. I am pumped about the rest of the season. Long live the Dream! (13pts, 13rbs, 3blks) Awsome.

Dream was HUGE. That block he had on brandon got me out of my seat, and then. in the timeout, Cuttino embraced him and you could just see the comradery. I love this team. Dream finally feels like a part of something. I laughed my ass off last night when I saw him wearing the towel turban like Mo, cat, and stevie do.
