I have nothing against NPR and have given public radio money before. That said when I talk about bias it isn't just political bias. NPR and PBS both go to great pains to not appear to have a political bias and frequently have conservative commentators on. The problem is that they come from a specific context and the reporters, editorial staff and oversight board all work within that context. That makes it difficult to be truly unbiased even if it's just in what they report and how much coverage they give.
This post is spot on about CNN. They are sensationalism biased going toward any story that will be sensationalist. I feel that other cable news networks have a bias, but also tend toward sensationalism.
Al Jazeera is biased. They do try to be honest about news reporting and they're great for actually hearing what's going on in the world outside American borders (which is why it's a shame that they're shutting down in the US). But they certainly are biased. I do like the BBC. Just the plain old boring news and nothing more. They'd never survive in the US media market. But they are necessary. Just like NPR/PBS. And that's why governments should fund them and stay the heck out of their way.
I Couldn't agree more anyone who would think that they are biased and showing there ignorance (bigtexx) for one yes you stated it first just how you have failed again.
