I vote we each kick in a thousand bucks and buy the team from Les. Clutch can be coach and BimaThug the GM. DaDakota can take over as Clutch the bear.

While that is indeed true, wouldn't this reignite another holy crusade by you against JVG? If memory servers, the last one ran two years...

Rockets currently valued at 1.5B, I think you're going to come up a bit short.

as a thought experiment, though, I love it, as long as Tinman has to clean up puke in the bathrooms . . . you know, ridding the world of filth yadda yadda. ;)

Yes he does, ATW. Still in the Bayou City after all these years. From a family standpoint, Houston would be perfect for Jeff. The McHale firing, as has been mentioned already, may have made the difference, assuming cyberx's source is on target. Circumstances can change, of course, and what cybrex has found out could change. If it does, I won't complain. Insiders are subject to the same fluid situation as their sources. Things can and do change.

Nope, JVG is right for this team - until he isn't.

He acknowledges he would approach offense differently - he has learned, sometimes guys need to be fired to adjust.

And don't forget that while the Rockets grapple with all this uncertainty (yet again), the top teams in the West will be getting even better thanks to the big jump in the salary cap that's coming this summer.

Maybe Jay Wright but going retread on a team that needs a be blown up is just keeping a 99 year old on life support.

My personal choice would be Sam Cassel.

I'm sure Les could make it up to him by giving JVG full control.

JVG & Les were cool two months ago but not now? What did Les do to piss him off now?

I think JVG has been pretty vocal about how bad and unfair the McHale firing was

Oh, you think he sat and thought about that McHale firing and said, "You know what, I'll pass."? :)

McHale was fired in November 2015
He said that about JVG in February 2016

The thing that really is disappointing is that McHale doesn't reveal the complete truth of the 'Morey Ball' system. He said some players have much 'pull' referring to Harden and then you examine that McHale was on a couple championship teams but can't utilize a semblance of that type of system.
