This is ONLY true when hes struggling with his jumpshot. If he has his jumper going, I don't think anyone can stop him.

You would look at his stat line and be like "holy ****, dude had more 40 point and 10 assist games then the rest of the league combined" or maybe "Oscar Robertson,Mike Jordan,Lebron James, James Harden all have something in common"

Guy gets it done and gets sht on by so called fans, I loved his game in OKC and was ecstatic when Morey stole him away, and was in the minority when I said dude was a legit #1 only to have people b**** and groan that no way he couldnt do it. Comes out drops a few 40 point games and then it turns into the aesthetics of his game?

LOL he is a polarizing figure so I get the rhetoric and self serving arguments, but you cant ignore what he does on the court.

That pretty much sums up most every player when a DPOY candidate is on them except prime Kobe/LeBron, and nobody thinks or expects Harden to be on that level.

You consistently used the word alpha to describe Brooks, often as your justification for why he was un-tradeable. And I specifically remember you comparing Bud's stats to Kobe's rookie stats and calling him Dale Ellis 2.0

Thinking back, I think with Wafer I may have just made fun of you in the past and mentioned him with the two others. But you definitely threw that A-word out regularly with regards to Brooks and Bud.

Sure, you can keep going if you want to continue throwing out names of players that don't apply to the question I asked.

Ginobili's probably only wing who consistently attempts the kinds of passes that James does.

Are those players not "non-pg passers"

all of them are great passers that are not point guards

You must not watch NBA games outside of Texas and Boris Diaw is still a better, more creative passer than Harden. You can't possible believe other wise.

    That's not the question though.
Nobody is denying he is a current era great, the question is about the aesthetics.

He was my favorite player in the league prior to the tickets acquiring him and he's obviously became even more my favorite player.

He is amazing to watch especially when he has everything going, his euros, step backs, shot and passing. He's a magician when it comes to drawing contact and he's absolutely insane durability wise.

    So yes

Grown man's game. I've always been a fan.

Harden needs help. A player or two that can lift him when things aren't going well for him.

Depends on which Harden we're getting:

If it's the Harden that isos all the time - No

If it's the Harden that moves off ball, is scrambling, engaged, running P&R's all the time, euro-stepping, and initiating his offense soon after crossing halfcourt, then OF COURSE - that is beautiful to watch. Remember the first three games he played as a Rocket? Gorgeous play!

Harden is very Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, though Hyde shows up more often

The good: good step back jumper. Decent ISO player with dribbles. Great euro step.

The bad: awful defense, takes plays off, dribbles down the clock and settles for jumpers/last-second passes, slow drives, poor finisher, FT-game through contact.

I think Harden's game is ugly and wouldn't be a fan of his if he weren't a Rocket. He doesn't have many highlight moves, particularly in this year when he's so slow-footed. What happened to his euro step that froze defenders?

Ditto.... I don't find his game enjoyable. I don't believe he is the type of leader or have the type of character that I like to represent the city of Houston.

Where was all the whining about the "aesthetics" of Harden's game last year when the Rockets were successful? Or the year before that? Or when he was in OKC?

Harden's game isn't pretty, but it's very effective. I don't care how pretty things are, so yeah...I like his game. He's also a Rocket, so I'll appreciate his time here.

And for those that truly just can't stand the man...fear not! He'll probably be gone in a couple of years, and then you all can rejoice that we have rid ourselves of the nuisance that is James Harden. Just hold on for a little while longer!

I think he chooses when to play & when not to play. For a borderline superstar his focus isn't where it should be, ESPECIALLY in the postseason. He just isn't a true competitor like a Kobe, MJ etc

I do not care about his well being, his game or his beard.

I hope he does well because he is a Rocket. Once gone he is gone

Harden is the most fun player to watch, kind of like a better Corey Maggette, but doesn't have Corey's hot body.
