Sorry to start a new thread but I just like to know what people would think if we put Yao and Shaq on the floor going one on one for a game of 21. THis might proof who's a better player when putting them head to head wihtout the help of their teammates. In the end, I think it would be a fight to the end but Yao will definitly come out on top with because of his height, shooting over shaq from anywhere on the floor and his blocking ability. The only big gun Shaq have is bump bump and dunk. Oh yes, with NBA rules of course. Wouldn't this be cool to have one on one for the NBA ALL Star? Let Kobe and TMac go at one another and see who's going to win best out of 3 instead. I know a team winning is more important then a one man dominant but I this is jsut to show us who's better when they go one on one with one another without their teamates.
lol they'd both tip eacother out everytime either one would miss a freethrow. Yao would have the advantage given the fact that his free throw shooting is much better then Shaq's.
I'm not so sure about that. I mean a team game is much different then a one on one game. I mean some players perform much better with the the help of their(or using and taking advantage) teamates but some players are just skill that they can't perform well with the team but are awesome by themself. I mean for example if you put compare like let say we use Vince Carter who people will say is better then Yao because of his higher scoring. But when we put them one on one, it would be a different outcome. It's one on one people not the NBA stats we are talking about.
The problem is that people been comparing NBA stats to say who's better then who. The best way is to let them go at one another head on on their own.
You're laughing, but that's what it would come down to: free throw shooting. I've played enough 21 games (actually we go to 33) to know that free throws will make or break the game. If Shaq was on that night, i'll give him the edge. But if he cant sink the free throws i say Yao.
yao and shaq are the best centers rigth now how can score and put some d at the same time. and to the question both of them will kick their asses around with a little of fanathings let's go YAO
I love Yao and dislike Shaq, but anyone who thinks Yao would have a chance of winning is an unrealistic, blind, Yao ONLY fan. Yao will be better than Shaq sooner than later, but not now.
Depends on if it's street ball. If it is Yao loses. But then again even if it isn't he'll lose any ways by non-calls.
Yao has a long way to go and this question should be shelved for two or three years.Shaq is the #1 player in the NBA. Yao Ming might, this season ,make the top 20.
I don't understand. You mean blackjack? I guess I'd go with Yao because Shaq is kind of stupid, but I don't see the point in having them play cards.
I'd say it would be close and all dependent on how shaq shoots free throws. Shaq hits a 2 but bricks the FT yao gets it back and scores and hits 3 FT's in a row AND GETS THE BALL BACK. I think Yao would have a good chance of winning in 21 since a lot of the scoring is done w/o contact. NOW if it's just straight up one vs one then there would be an advantage for SHAQ because once he has possession it will be hard for him to lose it.
Yao wins because of free throws. Shaq is a better player. It'd be kind of fun to watch, though. Wasn't there some idea that Robinson and Dream might do something like this a few years ago?
^^^^^^^^ hahaha...they meant the basketball game 21, but anyway getting to the question. I would favor yao because he's a better free throw shooter, but shaq could just run him over, and block his shots.
<<Yao wins because of free throws. Shaq is a better player. It'd be kind of fun to watch, though. Wasn't there some idea that Robinson and Dream might do something like this a few years ago?>> I remember that. Something about Taco Bell, wasn't it?
Shaq is anything but stupid. In a game of 21 (on a basketball court or at a blackjack table, Shaq will be the favorite IMHO. Yao has a long way to go before he can be considered a real challenge to Shaq.
I am not a fan of Shaq cause I think all he does is bully around and comit offensive fouls like crazy but he would definetly beat Yao in one on one at 21. Yao is still developing and doesn't have that killer instinct, the mean streak that Shaq, ZO and others have. Once he develops his body, gets that mean streak and gets comfortable in the league he will be unstopable.
