For the minority of "fans" who felt we were better off making the playoffs...

You happy now????? Seeing what we all expected to have happen (getting our brains bashed in by GS). I didn't even need 1 half of Game 1 to realize this would take place. Blow this **** up for all our sakes!

And don't you dare say we're not "real" Rockets fans because we felt like this team didn't deserve to make the playoffs. THEY DIDN'T. And this 1st Half proves my point perfectly.

    Shut the **** up .

Yes it's painful to see us lose in this way .

The 12th draft pick is somewhat exciting but overall is probably not going to be a big game changer .

Hopefully we can find a way to play well and discover some positives .

Do you want me to bump this thread in 3 years after the player taken #12 overall is a bust ?

How could any player that is a bust be anywhere near as disappointing as that first half was?

It's the principle of getting / losing the pick. Who cares if the pick turns out to be a bust? We had NO chance of beating the Warriors in 7 games. The 12th pick might turn out to be great. No chance this series against the Dubs will.

There are still positives that can come from the series . Player growth . Our owner opening his eyes . Ensuring we fire the coach . Letting Howard go . Seeing a team just get thrashed makes you reevaluate more than barely missing the playoffs and chalking it down to inconsistency or some other reason other than sheer incompetence and talent deficit .

ALL these things you mention were going to happen anyways.

What team were you watching this year?

On the bright side (I guess?), the worst thing that could happen to this team would have been to push/test GS and make this a series. This team is loaded with a bunch of "almost is just as good" mentality players. They spent the summer thinking about how they made the WCF last year and thought the regular season this year was not worth their effort.

Losing this series by an average of 30 a game should leave no doubt in their minds that they are not good and that major changes must happen.

But Dave, missing the playoffs altogether should also "leave no doubt in their minds that they are not good and that major changes must happen." I hate this is happening (I really do), but if this team played with any fight, resolve, hustle, and effort, we would be nowhere near the #8 seed, 4 or 5 at worst.

Seeing Corey Brewer starting, especially at PF, will give me nightmares for two weeks...

I am glad. This team deserves to be exposed on national TV AND shamed for their lack of caring. They obviously aren't getting any flack from the organization, and have been coddled beyond repair. They need this. The fans deserve to see them face the punishment from the basketball gods. They came in coddled and entitled and are getting schooled. And they deserve it!

Sometimes the best thing that can happen is to be shown how far you are from your goal.
