I wasn't a fan of Hinch immediately inserting Gattis into the line-up. Go with the hot hand, especially when it was a RHP yesterday (and today).
I'd counter that the Donaldson trade may be the exception to the norm... especially since it may not have worked out as well as Beane had wanted it to. Will have to see if this becomes the new normal, or if they continue to hang on to their club controlled pitchers and re-load around them as long as they can. Back on topic... Gattis is supposed to be doing catcher tutorial work today (hence why he's out). Does he possibly catch Fister's start tomorrow?
Might as well see what he can do until Stassi is ready. The quicker we get Kratz off the roster the better.

Maybe... but keep in mind, this is not as if they're trying to convert him to catcher. He's been primarily a catcher for the majority of his MLB career. Are they facing any lefties over the next week? That's the only other way he can get in the lineup for sure.
Lot of talk lately about one of these guys being one of the worst and the other being so good he can't be taken out of the lineup .246/.285/.463 .243/.297/.437 Those are the most recent full season sample sizes.... But yea there are those 7 games and that 1 other game this year so..... :grin::grin:
Its been only one week in the season. Also pitching in 30 degree weather in Yankees stadium with a short right porch is not a very good measuring stick for Feliz. I would wait at least a month before i make any kind of judgement on Fister or Feliz. For one thing veteran pitchers tend to take it easy during spring training so Fister's arm might be a little behind the curve. His velocity could easily be up to 90mph in the next couple of starts. He has had only one start as well. Making a call for rest of the season based on 90 odd pitches the guy threw is not prudent. Lets wait till at least May before we start making decisions.
Remember that many scouts believe Feliz is going to be a reliever and not a starter. Fister, is going to be interesting to see him in his second start.
