Come on Photoshop guys, help! It opens up but then it freezes when I try to open a document, new file, etc. I moved the prefrences, no help. Any ideas? I would feel better about troubleshooting this if I was on a Mac...

I'd re-install it. I think it has a repair option when you go into the setup.

Of course, if you pirated it or something... who knows...

Yeah, just didn't feel like doing that tonight... Throwing away the prefs on a Mac usally works wonders. I was looking for something quick and easy like that. Thanks.

What kind of system are you running your photoshop on? Give us some specs- if you are running the minimum requirements for photoshop with a large OS like win 98 you will get some freezes/crashes. Like sattle pointed out lots of RAM helps- PS is a memory hog especially if you are trying to run more than one program (etc.) at a time.

I'd recommend getting rid of Win98. When I had that, almost every application would freeze on me all the time. Now, with XP, it still happens, just not that often.
