    I never really thought of the jersey's being photoshoped. Interesting though.

    I freaking love these jerseys...Rocket red is back, baby!!! That is a very good thing.

    (oh, yeah...remember when red wasn't marketable?...apparently red beat up his girlfriend and got caught with drugs...so now he has street cred again...meanwhile, pinstripes and shark teeth got all uppity, started wearing a pocket protector and got really involved with trigonometry)

    this thread might not be "credible" or even worth y'all's time but these guys ARE the ones that buy the merchandise--the ones that aren't really from houston. take it with a grain of salt.

    Tim,

    I hope this hasn't been asked, but I was wondering what input the players had in developing the jersey, and which of their suggestions were incorporated into this jersey?

    Thanks for all your hard work in making the Rockets better !

    Those uniforms totally suck. They're in the bottom five of uniforms in the league in my opinion. Right now, I can't think of any uniforms that are worse, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some team out there...

    I don't understand how people could like the boring Red and Silver look. Oh well...I'm in the minority...

    whats boring about red and silver? would you prefer pink and yellow or baby blue like the new nuggets? the new unis are clean and simple. busy, colorful design doesn't mean good design. NO, they are not the greatest unis in the history of the universe, alas, but they are a helluva lot better than the last ones. plus, once you see them on the players in a few games you may start to like them better.

    That nike talk forum is soooo full of idiots its funny. They hate our unis,yet love the nuggets blue. Does anyone think the baby blue nuggets unis dont look gay,especially with Carmelo and his womeny smile of his if you know what I mean.

    The nuggets have authentic wnba unis,and are the WORSE I have ever seen. The cavs look like the comets unis,and if it wasnt for Lebron,people would be hating on the cavs unis.

    The ONLY reason,people hate our unis(other than the stripes) is because they are jealous they want ming so bad.

    I dont think they are anywhere close to being the worse in league. I think they are the best.But even that can be improved on . The shorts look GREAT. Everyteams shorts are just 1 color and look very cheap with no creativity. Our shorts(while some hate the logo) are completely original and match perfectly the top jersey.

    Red and silver is too passive in my opinion. The color scheme just screams "Retro Space" to me. We need Hal damnit! Hell, just adding a little black in the outlines might make it slightly better. Rockets are supposed to be powerful. We need deep reds and deep colors in general.

    The red and silver is too weak for a sports team. The only way it works is if you add more definition...example being the Bucs...

    The detailed physiological responses to colour supported by scientific datas are as under:

    Red
    The pituitary gland, which is an endocrine gland, comes into play when a person is exposed to red. In just a fraction of a second a chemical signal goes from the pituitary gland to the adrenal glands and Adrenaline is released. The adrenaline courses through the blood stream and produces certain physiological alterations with metabolic effects. The following reactions begin immediately but may not be noticed for a few minutes or even several hours depending on the health of the individual's Homeostasis (the physiological process by which the internal systems of the body are maintained at equilibrium despite variations in external conditions).
    The physiological effects of red colour are:

    * The blood pressure will elevate.
    * Blood flow speeds up as manifested by an increased pulse rate.
    * The rate of breathing becomes rapid
    * The autonomic Nervous System takes over and reactions become automatic.
    * The taste buds become more sensitive.
    * The appetite improves.
    * The sense of smell heightens.
    * Males become attracted to yellow based reds while females become attracted to blue based reds.

    Orange
    Being half red and half yellow orange can be either a classifier colour or a declassifier colour depending on the brightness or darkness of its shading.
    As a classifier, orange is a pivotal colour for a person making a buying decision. Also in the classifying mode, orange in general, appeals to just a limited number of people. AS a declassifier, orange moved s into another range and appeals to react positively to an orange object or concepts.
    The physiological effects of orange colour are

    * The appetite elevated and increases.
    * Relaxation is induced and the potential for sleep increases.
    * The rates of blood flow slow down.
    * A sense of placidnes, colourness and security develops when orange is combined with blue.

    Yellow
    As a declassifier with a broad-based appeal, yellow causes the following physiological alterations

    * The electrochemical transference from eye to brain called Vision takes place the quickest in the presence of yellow. Yellow is the first colour a person distinguishes when he/she looks on any object. It is also the most complex colour for the brain to process.
    * Human have and inherent precautionary reaction to yellow in nature, especially when it is combined with black.
    * Yellow gets a quick though temporary response from a subject under stress.
    * Yellow adds to stress by preparing a person for flight to fight.
    * Yellow- painted rooms cause children to cry more often.
    * Yellow surrounding s cause allergies to flare more frequently.

    Blue
    Known to produce a calming effect. A deep and strong sky-blue colour (known in medical term as Cardiac Blue) is the most tranquillizing colour of all. When it is in a person's field of vision, it causes the brain to secrete eleven neurotransmitters that tranquillize. These hormones are chemical signals, which bring calmness to the whole body.
    The physiological effects of blue colour are

    * Slows down the pulse rate.
    * Deepens the breathing.
    * Reduces the perspiration.
    * Lowers the body temperature.
    * Lessens the sweating.
    * Eliminates the flight to fight response.
    * Reduces the appetite (as very few blue food exist in nature).

    Brown
    Brown is generally considered environmentally sound. It offers a healthy encompass or enclosure to work, play, sleep and generally perform common metabolic functions without any hindrance. An aggragate of brown things influence the internal organs and mind in an enhancing way. Brown is a homeostatic colour and lends a sense of security.
    The presence of brown helps to

    * Dispel mental tension.
    * Promote the synthesis of serotonin (a neurotransmitter)
    * Reduce irritability.
    * Eliminate chronic fatigue.
    * Stimulate the formation of prostaglandin E1. (Prostaglandin is a hormone like substance in the tissues and the body fluids). It has many functions and it factors in the actions for the womb, brain, lungs, kidney and semen. Brown effect on prostaglandin E1 is therefore significant for the body's overall normal functioning.
    * Increase tryptophan amino acid levels that influence sleep, migraine, immunity and moods.

    Red is supposedly the first color percieved by Man. Brain-injured persons suffering from temporary color-blindness start to perceive red before they are able to discern any other colors. Neolithic hunter peoples considered red to be the most important color endowed with life-giving powers and thus placed red ochre into graves of their deceased. This explains funds of skeletons embedded in up to 10 kg of red powdered ochre. Neolithic cave painters ascribed magic powers to the color red. The word "magic" ("Zauber" in German) translates to "taufr" in Old Norse and is related to the Anglo-Saxon "teafor" meaning "red ochre". It can be stipulated that they painted animals in red ochre or iron oxide to conjure their fertility.

    Protective powers of the color red against evil influence were common belief. Objects, animals and trees were covered in red paint, warriors painted their axes and spear-catapults red to endow the weapons with magic powers. Some of the Australian aborigines abide by this custom up to the present times. Neolithic hunters and germanic warriors used to paint their weapons and even themselves in blood of slain animals. Roman gladiators drank blood of their dying adversaries to take over their strength. In other cultures, the newly born were bathed in blood of particularly strong and good looking animals.Red painted amulettes or red gems, such as ruby or garnet, were used as charms against the "evil eye". Wearing a red ruby was supposed to bring about invincibility. Red bed-clothes were customary in Germany up to the Middle Ages as protection against the "red illnesses", such as fever, rashes or even miscarriages (famous example is the painting Arnolfini Wedding by Jan Van Eyck, dated 1434).

    So, when exactly are the players going to be wearing their new uniforms? I have the feeling they won't be wearing it during the exhibition but on their opening night.

    SOMETHING I THINK IS WORTHY OF BRINGING TO EVERYONE'S ATTENTION

    As you see above Tim mentioned "the third jersey". That made me wonder a bit. Then when I saw the new graphics of the jersey on Rockets.com (Which had a four color scheme). I think we may be seeing other colors and perhaps "Houston" as everyone else has complained about.

    Perhaps it is wishful thinking, however when I read into this I would say that the Marketing dept (ala Tim) are looking into to all options. I think perhaps they can learn a bit form what the Astros have done by supplying merchandise for all fans.

    To all of you, keep your confidence in the organization. And please quit your whining until this all plays out.
