I tried to see if my anger would subside. I tried and I failed. I am still VERY pissed at Rockets management for electing to leave off "Houston" on the new unis. Logically, I can understand what they're saying. How it's a good business decision, yada, yada...... BUT for all the Houstonians and former-Houstonians who wanted the new Roxs jersey w/ "Houston" on it, we got SHAFTED! When I'm traveling, I always bring my road Astros jersey to wear (the one w/ Houston on the front). I love representing H-Town when I'm in different cities either vacationing or on business. Is it TOO much to ask Rockets management to give us the option of buying one if we so choosed?! However, we have not even been given that opportunity! We give them the brand spankin' new Toyota Center and we get this in return......:( We proud Houstonians deserve better, much better. I hope you are happy w/ yourselves Les and Co.

*On a side note, the unis do look great. Management did a fantastic job w/ them so I give credit where it's due.........

I agree with you. I do like the new unis, but with as much $#it as this city has gone through with the team especially the past couple of years, you would think we earned the town's name on one of the jerseys. Who knows maybe they can come out with a Sunday alternate uni like the @$$holes in la that have Houston on it.

You're not the only one who likes to represent the city. I still have my Texans jersey that says Houston on the back with the number 32!

This didn't need a new thread but since it's here...anyone seen this yet? Pretty freaking sharp with or without Houston on it.

Well there's 2 of him, his number was 23.

    2 x 23=46.

Looks like Calvin's making a comeback!

The stripes on the tops & bottoms are hideous, and yes, they should say "Houston "

I'm not from Houston, but have been supporting the Rockets just as strongly as, if not better than, most Houston based fans. If I bought a jersey, I'd rather have Rockets on it than Houston.

I'm sure that's understandeable. Now think about how many Chinese fans will want to get their hands on jerseys.

Sure, we can't go to games like you, but it's not like you were lighting up the Compaq Center the last couple of seasons.

    1) houstoncart...

There is already a thread going where the whining and moaning about the non-appearance of Houston on the unis is happening. therefore, it wasnt required to start a whole new one just to do what is already happening in the uni thread.

    is that clear?

one other thing..yea, this is a message board..but in case you hadnt noticed..they(the admins) like to keep excess repetitive clutter to a minimum...and whats wrong with helping them out by keeping common topics together instead of starting new threads just to continue what is going in an existing thread?

    2) MLC1...yadda yadda..

they aint going anywhere....say it with me....30. YEAR. LEASE

it will be THIRTY YEARS before Unca Les can threaten us with a move again.

Maybe the Rockets will suprise us by putting the word "Houston" on the BACK of the jerseys!

Why not a new thread? It can't hurt and it may create some waves.

I for one am in agreement. It certainly does not take much to produce a new jersey which says Houston (even if the team never wears them) From a marketing perspective, you keep Houstonians happy and you increase your sales.

While your at it why not make a jersey in Chinese that says Rockets with YAO. These small things take little effort for the org to order though could reap big benefits.

I'm sure that Tim and team are thinking of these things.

    i agree.
plus, does everyone have a huge identity complex? do you guys walk around with name tags. if the rockets reach their potential everyone will know everything about us.

i really dont see the connection between assuming that the lack of houston on the jerseys is a sign of the rockets selling out to china.

first of all, you can't even buy player jerseys in china, trust me, i tried damn hard to find them, its just not the fashion there. and if you do find one, its a shoddy as hell, illegal bootleg that the rox org doesnt make a dime on. Let alone the costs of the jerseys here would make them nigh unaffordable even in Shanghai. Even if they were $20 I wouldnt assume massive sales. I repeat: THERE IS NO PROFIT TO BE MADE BY SELLING THE JERSEYS IN CHINA. besides, if you want to feel better, most people there refer to the team as 'Houston' over 'rockets' (because beijing has their own rockets team).

second, the rox had a higher attendance in their away games than in their home games. If anything, leaving houston out on the jerseys (which is not a change by the way) is catering more to their AMERICAN audience that likes the rockets more than their own home town. These AMERICAN fans (the ones that can afford them) are the ones who are more likely to buy the jerseys and put money in the rox organization.

before anyone decides to boycott chinese fast food and nikes, remember that its the rox management that realized that they can make more money in other parts of america that cares less about houston than outside of their weak fanbase of a city. sure the tix are expensive, but even DC and New York natives show up more to their games, and their tix are even MORE expensive and they root for an even SUCKIER team. i know there are true fans on this board who go to games but some people need to stop shirking responsibility and accept that the lack of houstonians in their arena is why the rox organization lacks houston pride which ultimately resulted in the city name being left off. Dont blame the foreign country that cant afford, less, doesnt even have a market for nba jerseys.
