I hope the rockets don't turn out to be like the Portland Jailblazers. I know Steve has been in trouble and so has Mo taylor. So whats your opinion on this fans.

This is why we need four more Yao Ming's, not only for experimenting the 22nd century "PentaTower" formation but also for the sake of avoiding off-court troubles.....

What we need is some "CC.net"ers on the jury.

it isn't basketball players and drugs. it's people and drugs. how many people can honestly say they've never tried any kind of drug - be it mar1juana, hash, cocaine, heroin, speed, XTC, acid, etc.?

athletes have the spotlight on them, so we here more about it. but the reality is that they are just like you and i, only with more disposable income.

Not me.I tried pot only twice and hated the feeling.Havent tried the others you listed. Never put myself in those positions to get drugs. And if I did,I wouldnt be that r****ded like Griffin to put it in my car,and then go speeding. And Im in my late twenties. I do get alot of tickets though, but thats just one reason why I have enough common sense not to put drugs in my car.

    Yo...over here. (raising my hand)

    Not bragging or preaching,but:

    1. it's illegal---simple enough
    2. it's mind altering---simple enough
    3. it's not appealing---simple enough

Seriously, the thought of taking something simply to alter my thinking or mood just never appealed to me. And add the risk of legal hassles? Where's the attractiveness in that? Life is interesting enough(good and bad) already without distorting it. I'd just rather deal with what's real.

    Lecture over.:)

granted he is human and does make mistakes, he is also a role model for many kids. if he wants to smoke pot, fine. but do it in a way you wont get caught. kids already have it bad enough looking up to these rap stars. theres no need to make it any worse.

    Morons!!

Better weed than alcohol which kills and hurts much more...

#1 there is absolutely nothing wrong with pot.
#2 its only illegal because it will put all the real drug dealers out of money...(US drug companies) watched all the drug ads on tv? like zoloft and paxill and so on and so on.
#3 its only became illegal because of 1 senator in the 20's who lied about it and quoted a fake story about it to scare the county into thinking it was the next horrible thing.
its legal in canada and england etc...just a matter of time before our dumbasses get with the program.

So if he was drinking or smoking tobacco you would all be fine with that?
Those two things which are "legal" do a million times more damage to our people. And thos compaines just so happen to give money to politicians.

    Get real!

well until it becomes "legal", EG should've used his head and not got caught. He's a young kid makin millions like other athletes, he's not alone, im sure alot of athletes get high all the time to take the edge off..this incident is no big deal in the big picture. Let's hope he has his head together for the team instead..is that why is shot is soo flaaat? haha

As a parent I say 'bosh'. No athlete, no performer, no politician no one is a role model for my kids, nor should they be.

I teach my kids to respect their talent, but only their talent. We'll never know the rest of their story(ies).

Go Eddie -- the basketballer. I need not know EG, private citizen.

There is no proof that it kills braincells either.the latest reports say there is no longterm health effect from pot. check out www.norml.com to read the other side.

Our government also use to say pot would make you go crazy and jump out of windows.

    our govenrment lies alot...

in canada and england you do not have to have any health issues. it is legal for all the smoke!!!

sumo...go ahead and throw alcohol in the mix then. But how is weed OK? They all, weed included, alter a person's mood, judgement, actions, etc. Abusing any of these can lead to a lapse in judgement and potential harm to innocent others.

Maybe somebody in here could answer what I've never understood:

What IS the appeal in taking something to change your mood, affect your judgement and clarity of thinking,or changing your perception of reality? I'M NOT passing judgement. I'm just curious as to what makes it such a joyful experience.
