All that candy talk reminded me that you can get all sorts of different types of candy at Dylan's Candy Bar in the Galleria! If you've been there, what do you think? Myself, I go and buy something whenever I'm there. My favorite right now is the "Strawberry & Cream" gummy candy! They even carry candies that are hard to find anymore, Chunky anyone? Besides the flagship store in NYC, I heard that the Galleria store is the ONLY one outside of NY. I wonder if they've been reading that Houston is the "fattest city" in the country?! They knew they'd do great business down here!:) It's a cool place and I'm glad we got one.....

I didn't know about Dylan's until a month ago when my neighbor told me he worked there. Naturally, my sister and I had to pay him a visit. That place is pure sugar (and sensory) overload. We were so overwhelmed by the walls of candy at first, that we almost didn't get anything. But then, of course, our natural candy-hoarding instincts kicked in, and we stocked up. I ended up getting some hazelnut chocolate bars and my favorite Haribo gummy bears. I also picked up some plain milk chocolate for the husband.

They have an amazing selection bin candies (jellybeans, jolly ranchers, m&m's -- all separated out by flavor or color) as well as all kinds of candy bars and items you didn't think they even made anymore (like teaberry gum). Next time I go, I'm going to try out the soda fountain -- I love vanilla malts.

About where is it located in Galleria? I haven't been there in over 15 years but I will go for that.

It's on the second level, right by the central elevators near the (former) Lord & Taylor wing.

    Another vanilla malt fan!
Most of you have no idea how hard it is to get one made just right.

This place is now on my list of things to do the next time we're in Houston. Yummy!
