Seriously, my pick is Sam Cassell. Sammy was our secret weapon during our championship runs and he played with pure heart. He showed a lot of character after he was traded and showed no hard feelings towards the organization. He'll still say that his favorite fans are the Rockets fans.

No doubt my favorite is Dream. He's the best athlete this city has ever known. But before it's all said and done, and if he remains a Rocket for a while, I believe Francis will someday be held in that class with Olajuwon, especially if he brings some more championships to the Rockets.

    5. tie - Robert Horry/Rodney McRae (sp?) - small forward love
    4. Robert Reid - The game's first true point-forward and the knee socks were awesome!
    3. Hakeem Olajuwon - I love the guy to death.
    2. Steve Francis - I don't know why but he has just won me over.
    1. Calvin Murphy - No contest. I carried the guy's bball card around with me and bragged about how he and I are only two days apart with our birthdays. I still get nervous when I see him in person.

Rudy T. would qualify for my top five except that I am a bigger fan of him as a career Rocket (player/scout/coach) than just as a player.

Don't forget CHRIS JENT, who was the inspirational leader in our first championship run.

    (1) Sam "peanut head" Cassell
    (2) Rodney McCray
    (3) Robert Reid (went to Robert Reid basketball camp so he's got to be on the list).
    (4) Matt Maloney (only cause we're both Penn graduates) and
    (5) Rudy T. (yes, a shocker. I hate him as a coach, but loved him as a player)

Do you even need to ask?

    ------------------
In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

    Damn, I forgot Mr. Mean.

There are some times when I watching the Rockets give up offensive rebound after offensive rebound that I am screaming at Mr. Mean to get his ass off the bench and put a uniform on.

HP: This is a subjective thread, right? I mean, you can razz me because I like Ralph Sampson, but that is bogus, dude.

I am putting Raheem Sampson dow to six and putting Vernon Maxwell at five, it changed overnight.

HP -- send me a pic, I'll make the membership card.
