i don't live in texas, so i rarely get to see astro's games. well, i caught a hell of a game last night, as the 'stros whooped st.louis' ass! but the announcers said something i did not know. everybody hates jeff kent? they said the players disliked him, and the media dislikes him. is this true? what do you natives hear? i thought the vets loved his workman style? help me out with some info!
not true... Kent is liked in the astros clubhouse. The announcers must be confused with San Francisco and the problem between bonds and kent. in fact i believe Kent invited Biggio to his ranch not too long ago
Kent is known as a hard ass. Not interested in making friends in the clubhouse, all business, etc. Not necessarily a bad guy though. In other words, exactly what this club needed.
I heard the exact opposite. Kent is loved in the Astros clubhouse. The guy took a paycut and deffered salary to play in Houston for a reason. He didn't get along with Bonds because he can't stand that superstar showboating attitude. He also hates the spotlight, which is why he wanted out of NY when he played there. He saw Bags,Biggio, and Berkman all as humble guys without the big ego so he thought he would fit right in. And he was right.
Jeff is exactly what we needed...The only problem is, our Starting Pitching had the injury bug... We hold our own destiny, so lets go Stros'!!!
