What a loser mentality lol. Anyways, most people would have a higher standard of living under Bernie. That's the whole point of raising your taxes a bit, to get rid of larger financial burdens and strengthen the bargaining position of American citizens. Vox has been really ****ty about Bernie for 5-6 months now and I don't understand why. If you're going with Hillary that's fine, be critical of Bernie and praise Hillary, do your thing. But it's really sad for an allegedly progressive and liberal media outlet like Vox to use these right wing tactics, totally deceitful. I suppose if you're backing Hillary then you believe in being a dick to achieve your goals, whatever the cost to anyone else. I don't blame them, that's the game they've made everyone used to, that's the fear that's injected into people: if you don't play by these rules, CHAOS CHAOS CHAOS nothing will happen all progress will be lost the terrorists win. lol Give me a break, save it for the GE against the republicans.
I personally prefer a plain-speaking Jewish grandpa to a slick political operative, but maybe that's just me.
The one where half of the country would be in fear of as a communist or socialist and does not have too much personal charm? I think a polished communicator like Bill or John would do a much better job selling the message.
This was tried and tested, it's called Barack Obama. When a person shows the willingness to bend over in order to win an election, it's a sign they will bend over in front of corporations and congressmen too and allow their principles to be compromised. Listen, it frustrates me too. Bernie sometimes just doesn't know how to hit back at Hillary quickly or to be creative with what he's doing. It's fine. The job that should require the least FLASH in the world is president. You want the nerd, the dork, the one incapable of sweet talking people. You want the guy who will just do what he's told. A secretary. Not a leader. Leaders are for dictatorships. Trump is the best leader of them all. He is leading the F out of a quarter of voters right now. Hitler was a magnificent leader.
It is, though reading the article it was with would help. Just like it seems improbable my taxes would go up that much with Bernie, I don't see how they could be cut so much with Trump. My federal income taxes were -$1329, which seems crazy to cut.
And he was still called a radical Leftist, and panned for not being experienced enough and not being able to speak off the cuff. You'd think they'd be happy with Sanders
Exactly. Plus as a bonus they would get that awesome accent!!! How many times is that opportunity going to come up??? Spoiler
Obama put in Obama care, which is more than what Sanders will ever accomplish, at least that is my opinion.
I'd pay $8,000 more under Sanders, and $7,000 less under Cruz (not counting my signing bonus) apparently. lulz still feelin the bern. principles over money--and his policies are the ones best suited to deal with the post-automation world for both white-collar and blue-collar workers.
Northside, I'm with you also on principle as I think my taxes would go up at least $7,000. but have you taken into account your decreased payments for health related expenses and the costs of college, child care etc?
Barney Frank is not impressed with Sanders voters. Feel the Barn! http://www.slate.com/articles/news_...frank_is_not_impressed_by_bernie_sanders.html
The healthcare lobby accomplished Obamacare, it was originally a republican program but Mr. Obama adopted it as the the only change to healthcare that he could muster up the votes to approve because the lobbyist were paying for them. Bernie is accomplishing establishing progressive politics as a considerable political option in the face of 50 years of corporate/military propaganda. That's actually huuuge. He also sponsored the 2014 VA funding bill.
It's pretty much the 1996 Bob Dole plan, back when Republicans used to suggest alternatives to legislation they didn't like. It's not universal healthcare -- it's mandated health insurance. It's still not as good of bang for the buck as what I could get out of pocket in many other places on the this planet. I think most importantly, he's trying to reverse Clintonian triangulation, and remind people that there was an America before Reagan.
Reminds me of this exchange: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/EOzWwC1D2Zc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Somehow Americans have forgotten there are possibilities beyond: how do I get a fraction of widely-accepted demands through a psychotic congress? Traditionalists - who have a very valid view too - can't seem to think past: yes but how will he pass it in exactly the way things have been passed since Regan. To them, this is pragmatism. To the vast majority of Hillary voters, they're simply in a bunker mindset with any regular victories over glorified, and what was given up to get those victories swept under the rug. I think we're just going to have to wait for this next generation of Americans, who are passionate about these issues but demotivated and distracted from participating. The force is strong with them though. They give me hope that Americans will again see awesome change in their country and inspire entire countries abroad to follow in their footsteps.
Sanders surging past in Clinton in latest Wisconsin poll now with a 4% lead. Pretty incredible, he trailed her by 53% in an October Wisconsin poll.
I would love to hear the private conversations from Hilary and her advice given to her after she sees these polls. Six months ago she thought the primary for the (D) nomination was going to be a breeze.
My goodness you Bernie folks are so disconnected from reality sometimes -- it boggles the mind. 1. Bernie would need to beat Hillary by at least 15 points in Wisconsin to have a prayer, and even then, it wouldn't matter after he gets crushed in NY, MA and PA. 2. I'm sure you are capable of understanding that survey polls vary quite a bit in terms of methodology and results, and that claiming a "surge" based on two very different pollsters is rather stupid, to put it frankly. Anyhoo -- those who bother to pay attention would note that the pollster in question (Quinnipiac) has only done Dem polling in 3 other states: IA, FL and OH. They underestimated Hillary each time by between 3 and 8 points. WI is a close race and has always been. Bernie is reportedly outspending Hillary 6 to 1 there, so it might tip a little in his favor in the end. It won't matter.
