This must be the big trade that will have all of Houston parting in the streets. Sorry, I'm just a little upset that the other trade(whatever it was) didn't go down. ------------------
The trade was for 'Reef, and as the president of his welcoming committee, i'm not ready to accept the death of that deal just yet, though everything points that way. It's just that being the President of a Brad Miller welcoming party wouldn't be nearly as exciting... ------------------ President of the Official Welcoming Committee for Shareef Abdur-Rahim!
I would trade Cato for him, straight up, I want Cato and his contract off my team. Weak arse biaaatch that he is........ I, for one, would be thrilled to get Brad Miller. More thrilled than if we acquired Reef. I used to be into the idea of bringing Reef, but we've obviously either given up on that or have little to no chance. Besides, since Doc Rocket first spoke up about a potential trade, Webber gave indications of NY, Houston, or Orlando...and I see Houston as the winner of those three. Getting Miller means getting Webber, as far as I'm concerned. Sure, I may be getting my hopes up; but I'm sure Webber will come here. SURE of it. ------------------
Brad Miller? Lets just keep the attention on the draft, and F.A. period. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Unless we can trade guys like Rogers, Collier(out for season) or possibly Langhi for him we are not going to get him. I don't think its worth trading any of our guys for him. I think he's a good player but not a starter a sure bench player. I can only assume we are interested in a guy like this because he's a Jason Collier type player. Can shoot from 15 feet away and is a wide body. Thats all I can see out of him. I would not trade Cato for Miller, but I'm betting thats what the Bulls are wanting. They'd take a chance to take a big man, any shot blocking big man. Here is my "Bull's theory" I'd only give Cato up for Miller and maybe Fizer. I know that won't happen so I see no trade happening. I'd rather trade Rogers to Miami for Bowen(a true 6'8 defensive SF). Shandon is not a true SF, Bowen is. JUST MY OPINION. ------------------
I've never seen him play but last night he had: 20 pts, 8 rbs, in 28 min. Not to damn bad. ------------------
"Miller and Cato" The key here is Cato and his attitude towards any trade. The plan was to showcase him a little to make any trade a more palatable and acceptable option for a couple of prospective teams. Cato of course has got to being willing to showcase himself. If he "plays" the injured waif they way he has been ... brief flashes of involvement followed by extended vacant stares from the wings ... well, it sure makes it harder to sell that to a willing team. Chicago's wish list had Cato on it for quite awhile. Personally, I would trade Collier and Cato for Miller in a heartbeat. "Other Trades" The big trades are gone for us this year. The Griz were close. The Sonics and the Pistons were interested. Even the Raptors and last night's Celtics had some interest late in the first half of the season. But our big days are gone unless a miracle arises in the next 24 hours. By miracle, I mean K. Cato cooperating with some interested parties. Walt was on and off again but was taken off the block altogether just prior to the allstar break. Basically he simply played himself out of respectable value on the market in the last couple of games. But who knows, maybe I will get my Christmas wish and CD will be able to unload both of these lame bags of wasted protoplasm on some team. ------------------
The Cato lesson has taught, at least me, that people that write children's books are not competitors. They're wusses. hehe. Poptart, Pat Riley was quoted in a paper this morning saying that he was going to approach his owner about acquiring a big man @ 7 mil/year w/ a long term contract. Was that our little own Kelvin Cato? Other questions: 1) Would you or do you think CD would ever bind KT to Cato's contract to get him to move? 2) Do you think Cato would respond well in another situation? Could Pink & Floyd get him to play up to his 'potential'? ------------------
Hey Oeilpere, Nice to hear from you again. In hindsight, we should've traded Walt at the end of last year, while he still had some trade value. The only good thing is that if we can't unload him this year, his contract expires after next year if I remember correctly. Miami is in need of a center. Has there been any interest from them, other than for Dream? How about Phoenix, if they are unable to trade for Mutombo? What kind of cooperating are you talking about for Cato? ------------------
How about these trade ideas? Rockets send Cato/LOS/KT to Chicago. Chicago sends Miller/Fizer to Houston. We release Chicago from their obligation for the Drew trade. If we need to sweeten the pot a little, then we try this one. Rockets send Cato/LOS/KT/Moochie/Drew trade obligation to Chicago. Chicago sends Miller/Fizer/El-Amin to Houston. However, I would be very reluctant to trade Moochie. Also, if Miami were still interested in Walt, we could send him staight up for Ceballos. All 3 trades work according to RealGM. Any thoughts? ------------------
