Dmo at C mo? The inability to make foul shots reduces the value of both. It allows opponents to just take the air out of your offense and negate the post game.
The biggest difference to me is we can switch everything on D with Capela in. Dwight and Terry are major liabilities after any switch. It should clearly be Capella next season.
Lol....Howard by far. Now would I be willing to pay Howard what he wants this summer? Probably not. Would I be comfortable with starting Capela next year If Howard walks? As long as we can sign a capable backup center for cheap, yes.
Can I pick neither? Capela still has a lot to learn, as he should with a player at his age, and Dwight... Let's just say I'll go mad if I see one more goaltend/lazy screen/refusal to hedge and get back to his man but instead switches and attempts to guard a pg. the last could be either laziness or coaching, but my word hedging and giving time for your player to get back to guarding his man while also returning to your player is taught in high school. If it's coaching that's the problem for that issue, then God help us.
that dwight not worth the money he's getting paid doesnt mean capela is ready to be a starter. as promising as he looks, clint is still raw. we need to figure out a way to better use d12 for the short time he's still here.
We have had almost 3 years with Dwight. If we haven't "figured out a way to better use d12" by now, we certainly aren't going to do it in the next 7 games before the playoffs start... if we even make the playoffs.
I Wouldn't mind seeing both of them leave this offseason. If Clint isn't going to bring the energy and explosiveness that he burst onto the scene with last season then he's expendable. There's no time to sit back and wait for slow or none developers. Complement the asset mentality with an expectations mentality. Meet the expectations, or get treated like a tradable asset. Stop holding on to guys who don't hold up their end of the bargain or who don't know or just can't fill their roles.
Neither. I don't want to pay Howard $100,000,000. Capela isn't ever going to be an adequate NBA starter.
For the interim and Howard's I get wait to bolt mentally, Capela gets my vote. Hoping the Rockets will be able to address the departure of Howard over the Summer.
If the Rockets are ever in need of a change agent (which they are), then I'm their man. I'd smile in their faces and clean house like a janitor. The only recognizable faces you'd see when I finished would be Harden, Beasley, Bev, and Dmo.
