So you think the Bobcats deserve to stay over the people of Charlotte getting their original team that they love back? I don't understand why anyone would be opposed to this name change?? Unless you're some kid that thinks the Bobcats are some classic team you've grown up with through your middle school years...

Bobcats was self worshipping by their old owner, as opposed to Hornets which dates back to the war of independence. It isn't hard to figure out what has more meaning to the people of Charlotte.

(As a side note, all names and logos are property of the NBA, not of the individual owners (as confirmed by David Silver), so a change of name back to the hornets would be simple from a legal pov)

This. I don't see any kid watching the Bobcats on their TV and screaming "SAVE THE BOBCATS!!!".
That franchise needs something. The Charlotte Hornets would be a great name.

I wish they'd move the damn Clippers. Hate the idea of two teams sharing an arena.

But the Bobcats should definitely change their name. Nobody reps the Bobcats. Thy have no real identity or connection to the area.

I always liked the name Charlotte Flight which is what they were going to choose before they chose Bobcats. With MJ owning the team, Flight sounds sweet.

Yeah thats what i hoped for as well. You got the Wright brothers connection and Air Jordan connection. Would have been perfect. But, i'll still take the Hornets.

Flight, their mascot would have been what, an airplane, a jet?

when they're good they are very good. They play as a team and to a man they seem very unselfish. I think they're gonna do well in the playoffs. And Kaminsky is the sleeper candidate for ROY.

The only team in the East that they haven't beaten is Boston.

The East is wide open. Any team can beat any team in the playoffs. But it won't matter. The real finals will be the WCF.
