Sanders may cut into Clinton's lead by 100 pledged delegates by the end of the day. So far she has not picked a single pledged delegate and is in jeopardy of not picking up the 15% needed to recieve any. Huge day for Sanders

Also if he has the landslide in Hawaii as expected he'll now have 6 victories of the last 7 caucuses

Less than $2000. Even the year we had my son, we didn't spend anything close to $7K.

This guy's tax plan is absolutely nuts, sorry. I'm all for taxing the rich more, but I'm absolutely against any plan that drops my take home income by over $1000 per month... What the heck?

It's not a plan, it's using tax dollars Americans already pay on things 99% of Americans don't benefit from. It won't affect your income. It's just cutting tax breaks millionaire & billionaire CEO's, investors and corporate scum have been in investing for years and not sharing with the people who've made them more money than they can ever spend.

    That's what he claimed.

I am not a millionaire yet (I say yet because I do plan on becoming one). I'm just a middle class guy with a good job and a family to feed. I worked hard to get to where I am. It's one thing if you're going to increase my taxes to cover my health insurance costs. It's another when you want to drop my take home income by well over $1000 monthly. That's 2/3rds of my mortgage payment.

    Sod off, Sanders.

I challenge anyone with a decent income to enter their numbers into that calculator and not do a double take. I had to run it 3 times to make sure I wasn't making a mistake.

We haven't even gotten to his small business-crushing payroll tax increases yet.

actually...you have. See my previous post and the explanations in the article you linked. This tax estimate includes payroll taxes, corporate taxes and excise taxes. I'm no fan of Bernie's tax plan, but this calculator is including much more than you might think. Your takehome would not change by that much even if Bernie could have his plans passed.

If I put my income from last year, I would lose about 1k a month. That's A LOT.

Living in NYC 1k a month is basically all my savings, Bernie would basically make me live paycheck to paycheck. I am not feeling the Bern.

I meant the fact that many small businesses would cease to survive under that burden.

You want to tell me that some how my income and payroll taxes increase by $1500 and my employer will just happily eat it all up for me? Because you're not making sense. We're not talking about a few hundred dollars. It is EIGHTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS.

If you think you can take that tax increase without feeling it hard in your pocket, then I've got some beachside property in Kansas to sell you.

Plus if you are an independent worker or freelance, you have to pay all the payroll taxes including unemployment (even though you won't be able to collect it) which means your taxes could go up by $2500 a month. That's bone crushing.

Does not affect anyone's income but it does offer free healthcare and 4 yrs of college which probably amounts to way more than a $1000 month for the rest of your life especially with multiple children. But that's just what the rest of the country seems to understand but people in the south or brainwashed by Fox News or whatever major media source that spoonfeeds that garbage

Only if the skiing's good ;)

Just pointing out the calculator is a convoluted mash up of a variety of things. Not defending Bernie or his plans. I do think he'll have a tough go of it against even Trump if it comes to that when these sort of calculations come out. And I'm curious to see how much today's projected results change his overall chances.

You wanna know why Bernie Sanders gets 75% of the vote in Washington and draws 30k at the Mariners ballpark.

Because Seattle has already implemented the economic system he wants too put in place and it's been a major success

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that most of the Bernie crowd really has trouble with mathematics. Once you try to reason with them on logic and arithmetic, they accuse you of being a low information voter/voting against your own interest/being a confederate from the south/etc.

Would probably also explain why many of them seem to think he still has a snowball's chance in hell of winning the nomination.

There's free, single payer Medicare for all in Seattle? I think you meant Cuba/your hero's idol Fidel Castro but got confused.

Bernie wins states that have relatively few people and are very White (sans Hawaii). Winning Caucuses is nothing. He cannot win the big states with actual PEOPLE in them. He will not win California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or New York. You dont deserve the nominee if you can win diverse states. The only one he has won is Michigan and he won that by 20,000 votes. He lost Ohio, the other state he should have won. If you can't win Black and Hispanic voters.....u cannot be the nominee.

I think he is talking about the minimum wage. The problem with Sanders is that NONE of his policies have a shot at actually being implemented. Even if the Democrats win back the Senate, the House will still be controlled by the Republicans.

I've already posted an itemized list of every single thing that he would omit from the federal spending budget (in this thread), that the President and advisors choose. You wanna complain about having 0.2% more of your income taxed when you can recieve free healthcare without co-pays and premiums and put anyone in your family through college debt-free, then you are just a Grade A moron or facist. You decide.

The federal spending budget does not need to be passed. It's not a law. It's the distribution of taxes. It's not free money. It's using money we already have to benefit America beyond the mega-rich

You spend less than $2000 for 2-3 people? If that's the case I would assume you would make more at your job then because insurance would be provided though the government.
