It's the old real movie vs supercoold superhero, villain assembly They probably wanted to see a coherent, logical movie with spot on narratives. I am ok with the movie knowing that Mr. Snyder was a trailer genius but that the movie was not going to be on par with the trailers.
This. Group think sucks. People have been brainwashed. Then when they see it they come in wanting to hate it.
That was what they intended. Good catch. Or perhaps some of us actually think about what we're watching.
I know its a superhero movie but it didnt even make sense. What was lex's plan with doomsday? Lex is supposed to be a smart guy.
Maybe I am one of a few who would give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. I don't hate it and I do not love it (aside from those cool entrances and cool costumes, gizmos) I just do not want to join either the nerd and the hater group.

I give it a 6.5. Tons of pretty cool action and some interesting scenes. I thought man of steel was around that score too though and didn't want to watch it again. Negs... Batman kills just like superman. Superman inhaling that gas without needing to. Wonder Woman's theme song a bit out of place. Pacing after the first fifteen minutes couldn't match the intensity and direction. Insane Luther. 9/11 p*rn ftw...
For me Suicide Squad is very likely to be better. It got the surprise effect and the villain turn into anti hero effect will do exceptional IMO.
I'm going with a 6.5 also and the frustration that with a few tweaks it could, should have been an 8-9. I haven't read all of the thread so I will spoiler just in case. Spoiler the bad: The shortcut to creating Doomsday was stupid and lazy. The whole "tampering with Kryptonian DNA makes Doomsday" probably could have worked if they had just spent five more minutes explaining the process. Too many dream sequences and the dream in a sorta dream was silly and really added nothing to Bat's motivation. I was little disappointed in the slow, choppy nature of the first hour of the movie. It needed at least one kick ass action scene. The good: The complexity off Bat's investigation of Lex was a pleasant surprise. Same for the lead up to the Superman government hearing. I thought the Lois tie-in with the terrorists was a good launching pad for the scrutiny on Supes. The motivation for Superman finally fighting Bats was simple but unexpected. I never saw the kidnapping of Martha Kent coming. Gal Gadot. I only knew her as eye candy in the FF movies but I Thought she came off as very regal with the poise and measured demeanor a really old super-powered person probably would have. Batman. The car chase with the Batmobile was so sick. After hearing Joss Whedon talk about how difficult it is to put all these super hero characters together and then see the garbage that was Age of Ultron I assumed this movie was going to have serious difficulty doing the same so I give Snyder half a pass on that. If DC really wants to catch with Marvel in two movies then I don't think any director can make that look great. But some of the stuff just seemed so out of place. Like two different people wrote a script and the bad script made 25% of the movie. Having said that, I will definitely watch again to see what I missed or misunderstood the first time so DC isn't done with my wallet. Not even close.
7.5/10 The first half was awfully slow and boring. Second half saved it. Still, it feels so empty. Empty action. Empty wannabe artsy slow motion. His whole wannabe Terrence Malick directing is really annoying. Tries too hard. Not an ounce of humor. The same bland, dark colors. Honestly? Michael Bay would make these movies more enjoyable. At least his films have some humor and the visuals and colors are beautiful. The Batman and Wonder Woman(though her accent was really inconsistent) parts were the best so it actually gave me hope and excitement for their solo movies. I hope Snyder is done now with all of the movies. Let someone else do Justice League(preferably Ben Affleck after his bat flick).

It was not as bad as critics make it out to be. It was a solid movie, if anything I'm starting to buy into the DCU. Movie was a bit unfocused at times, since there is so much they are trying to cover, but in the parts it clicked it was great. Affleck as Batman was great Spoiler but I guess this Batman is ok with killing? No complaints from me on that though. I was skeptical of Gadot as WW, but she was a bright spot for me. Looking forward to the director's cut.
In response to your spoiler, I think 20 years as Batman and the death of Robin may have pushed him to that point.
Certainly wasn't a bad movie like the RT score would lead you to believe, but it wasn't really a good movie either. As a lot of us feared, trying to introduce too many elements at once led to a movie too long, yet still with limited character development. Spoiler This should have been 3 movies, a Batman solo effort to introduce Batfleck as old jaded Batman (who I loved in this), as well as introducing WW. The other movie should have been another Superman solo movie to introduce Lex, and have Superman dealing with the public fallout. Both movies would have served to set up BvS. As is, they lazily used dream sequences for development. And more importantly they rushed what was far away the most important part of this movie, how they go from adversaries to the best of allies. That's his mother's name...really? The introduction via video of the other 3 JL members, talk about feeling forced in. And Flashes cameo, was a very esoteric reference that I imagine 95% of the audience had no clue it was even the flash. This could have been 3 awesome movies, instead is was one OK movie. I still don't know anything about this Batman, aside from the typical things we always know about Batman
I thought it was good. Critics are off on this one to give it as low of scores as they have. I thought Snyder did well capturing the comic feel on screen. Some things could have been improved but I'd say 7.5. Spoiler I figured luther learned about creating doomsday by mixing dna and zods body from the ships computer. It just didn't quite explain why luther hates superman to the extent he did.
