Where are all these 7 foot Asian guys coming from? I thought Asians were supposed to be short.

I'm just kidding by the way.

No. 1 is unlikely.he's a far better athlete than Yao Ming. but his skill level is nowhere close to that of Yao. i think he will be a top 10 pick in 2005 if his home team allows him to leave for NBA. but it's better for him to stay in the CBA for a couple more years to develop his skills and make himself more ready for the NBA.

How come Aleksandrov didn't play in World Youth Championship (Under 20)? Yi put up big numbers against players 4 years his senior. Aleksandrov only played against U17 Euros. I don't think their numbers are comparable at all.

So how good is he against people beyond his age group? In my opinion, at this point of their careers, Yi is more accomplished. Despite that he is six months younger than Aleksandrov, he already impressed people at ABCD camp a year ago. There is a reason why Yi is in Time Magazine but not Aleksandrov.

Anyway, don't hype these young guys so quick. There are many reasons they will develop to something else when they are ready to enter the draft. :D

well, let's see.. for some strange reason, there's always hype when the nba wants to draft asians. so far, only yao has lived up to the hype and wang and bateer never did anything. so, let's see if he's really the asian version of garnett.

Actually Aleksandrov impressed scouts since he was 13-14. When he played at the basketball without borders a couple of years ago. This year he will be playing agianst tougher competion then Yi will be because he will play for Serbia's biggest club Partizan. HE also play in the Euroleague with his club.
