I'm in college right now and I think I'm the wisecrackin' a$$. I just make everything a joke and mess around with the other students and sometimes the professors.

What kind of students were you?

    This was me in college:

Then my friends started graduating and leaving, so I finally got serious. I think they gave me a degree just to get rid of me.

I was very quiet and kept to myself in college the first time I went through. And that was fine for accounting.

When I went back recently for the advertising stuff, I was closer to the class clown, always ready with a comment of some sort. But that was okay in the advertising environment since the professors there encourage creativity, etc.

Of course, I made about the same grades either way.

I enjoyed the experience more the second time around. Made more friends, had more fun, and I feel like I learned more because I was more engaged.

The kind that never showed up for class. I think I showed up a total of 4 times for my first accounting class.

I had a girlfriend in college that would show up the first day of class, the review before a test day, and test day. She followed the same pattern for all her classes.

    She made straight A's...

I showed up regularly, diligently took notes and tried to make insightful comments.

I ran laps around the competition at every level despite attempting to destroy my brain with alcohol a minimum of 3 times per week.

First two years of high school: AP student, high GPA, studied regularly.

Final two years of high school: made more friends, got car, got lazy, dropped AP classes because I was too lazy to read, found BBS, half-assed everything.

College- eh, mediocre. I show up on test days and don't study as much as I should. Just do enough to get by.

I'm loving my big fat juicy A's! I was such a slacker in highschool and my first year of college. Right now im at a community college, but I dont mind. Cheap classes and a super high gpa to take to my future uni. Yum Yum!

Ah, in class I highlight. That's it mostly. Highlight junk in my book. Why do people take tons of notes? 99% of the crap the teacher is talking about is RIGHT THERE in the text.

I dig college. I dont get to have much fun, but it's cool cause my bf is a zillion miles away in chicago anway and he's the only person im interested in having fun with. :D

Have to ask: did you graduate summa c*m laude from Rice, or did you literally run around in lecture halls during class?

In high school, I was a good girl who took care of everything, did everything right, and made A's. But I tried to distance myself from the image. I'd still sit in the back and make sarcastic comments. I annoyed the "smart people clique" because I didn't go around trying to act intellectual like they did (you know, smarter-than-thou, more-intellectual-than-thou); I acted like I didn't care and was more focused on my athletic training. Then I would do the same as, or better than, those people in competitions and on exams. I got the highest SAT score in my school and thought I would do fine at college...

It turned out I could try to be a good girl, most of the time, and college was still going to kick my butt. I'd just come up against something a little harder than anything we had back home. Oh well, there are no guarantees in life. I usually put forth a decent effort (again, "usually" - I sometimes let my social life take too high a priority, and many hours of studying were wasted when I couldn't concentrate and kept thinking about guys). However, my college classes were insane in terms of difficulty level. They wanted to weed me out of the department (which they did not get to do). I finally learned how to get through those classes and got in a steady relationship; by then it was about time to graduate.

Oh well, I love being an underdog. Somehow I got into grad school anyway, where I was completely in the middle as a student (not too good, not too bad) and was not really noticed either way. Eventually, I climbed the ladder enough to become a faculty member. My students think I must have made all A's in college - they're shocked when I tell them that I had every letter of the alphabet at least once.

Still in HS so I guess I'll just say what I am like now.

I tend to strive for the good grades and classes. (got best GPA in school, but in a way, that probably isn't saying much at my school). Around most people, I'm quiet and shy, but around the people that REALLY know me, I act pretty stupid and talk a lot. (hehe, I'm sure you guys could attest to that.) Kind of funny because like 4 or 5 years ago, I would hardly say a word, but like now I'll talk and people are like, "Wow...he actually talks." And I'm like, "Uh....yeah...I do." And then I like pull out a stick beat them across the head. (J/K about that last part.)

Hehe...and I'm a pretty good kid...most of the time. ;) Only have had one detention in my life, and that wasn't even the right punishment I was supposed to get. I got it for a dress code violation since I missed a couple of hairs while shaving and I got caught the 1st day of school.
