In the cold opening, he also couldn't get to sleep at his swanky apt, so went back to his nail salon "5'x5' apt". And here's a pic from BB of the Salamanca cousins in the boots
That scene with Mike and Salamanca felt very Breaking Baddish. Similar to situations when Walt goes into a dangerous scenario with no real leverage to speak of and kind of shapes the proceedings through sheer force of will. I loved that. I still find the Jimmy and Kim stuff riveting. I know others feel it is slow but I could have watched the entire week's worth of Jimmy singing songs to Kim on her answering machine and just seeing her reaction to it. But it looks like things are going to start moving quickly towards the "Saul" phase next week. Starting to see the brightly colored suits.
there are crooked cops and honest criminals. mike is definitely honest, giving the $25k back to nacho. remember the gun dealer a couple weeks ago...mike tried to pay him for his time and he refused the money saying he makes his money on repeat business. mike doing the same to nacho...he knows he can get some more work out of him. nacho is never mentioned in breaking bad, right? i think we can see where things are heading in the tuco/nacho relationship (adios nacho!) and now mike and gus have a common enemy. also, i just realized that nacho kind of looks like tony parker. the pace of this show is definitely about to pick up...so exciting!
Nacho (or what most assume is Nacho) is mentioned in the first episode with Saul in Breaking Bad. When Walt and Jesse kidnap him and take him out into the desert to scare him. He says something like "It wasn't me! It was Ignacio!" They never explain who Ignacio is but Nacho is a shortened name for Ignacio. I think I've even read interviews with the actor (who seems like a SUPER cool dude, by the way) where he confirms they are the same person.
You don't remember the biznatch scene. Where we see the wild side of Tuco to almost kill Saul for scaring his moms, with his two dime store thugs.
I loved the shot in Kim's office of the empty bankers box that was taken from the ceiling, as if to show she was mulling over the offer to leave..
It strikes me that what we have seen of Nacho to this point is pretty subdued, criminally. I think he is a very smart guy who doesn't go overboard unless it is warranted, and we haven't yet seen it warranted on this show. For that reason it makes it kind of easy to almost root for the guy (he advocates to spare Jimmy in season 1, he indirectly makes that arrogant nerd have to sit in pie, he wants to bump off Tuco but allows himself to be talked into a less fatal solution). But I have a feeling, before this season is up, we will see a Nacho moment where his true ability to be brutal and violent will be demonstrated. This show (and Breaking Bad) love to have surprising moments that turn you around on a character. I'll be curious to see how that moment manifests itself (assuming I'm right).
Lot of symbolism in BCS; love it Wonder if this deceiving poor saps will backfire on Kim and Mcgill Great to see the twins back
Last Week . . I think Saul and Mike learned .. .that if you going in . . . go all in I mean . . .I think Mike sees that killing Tuco was the bell to ring . . .sparing him was the one he cannot unring .. . cause now he in the ***** Saul looking at the generic dumbass commercial makes him realize he should have gone all in Half Measures are trouble Lands Mike in Cartel Crosshairs Lands Saul with a baby sitter The Alternatives might have been worse. . . but d*mmit they would have been more effective. I think that is the thing . .. . they learning to do what is effective not what is right Rocket River
I'm guessing Mike plans to use the money to hire Jimmy as his defense, thus pushing Jimmy more towards becoming Saul.
I think that is a firing offense, too. Don't think he can just do defense cases at will, while working for a firm. With the pie-sitting defense, he claimed pro bono to Kim, and that wasn't even an actual case, as the dude wasn't charged...just in for questioning. And he still got in trouble with Kim for falsifying evidence.
The season is finally starting to pick up, thankfully. Still, the show is at its best when Mike is the main focus.
Nacho probably dies and crazy 8 takes his place. Remember how Crazy 8 was basically a ball boy 2 episodes ago? He deff. Moves up.
love the episode. The hot air, dancing buffoon symbolism was great...great music, too. I get frustrated when I can't make out what someone says in tv shows, despite replaying it. What does Jimmy mean by, "Schweikart once, you bad." Not even sure that's what he says to Kim on the phone. She seems to not understand the line, either. Daryl said something last TWD episode that I couldn't make out for the life of me, too. .
