Wonder if Cliett and Quissenberry are going to play next year, and if so, what they can amount to. Who else do we have that sat out last year?
Q should definitely be able to contribute this season...if he can get back to where he was when he first started, then he will be starter material. Cliett should give us solid PT as well...he'll be what we need in coverage.

That 1st round pick is going to be a very tough decision for us. Since we have no compensatory picks and no 6th (or was it 7th) due to the Chris Clark trade, they have to make the best choices in terms of pluging holes and potential gambles. At 22nd we can either fix the biggest issue on defense with a NT to help plug our bad run defense up the middle (we were elite outside of that). A TE like Henry or a speedy reciever will help our offense significantly and help Brock. Do we want a safety valve and options in the intermediate passing game? Or do we want to add explosive potentials with a speedster that will open up things for Lamar Miller and Hopkins in the passing game. I think if you are truly sold on the speedster talent in either Fuller or Coleman you go for him. In the 2nd, IMO it would be best to go after that one Center from Alabama because there aren't too many good centers and that is currently a big hole. Looking at the holes currently on this team and the current win-now position we are in, I'm starting to think it might not be best to draft a QB early.
Forgot to add, but a NT that can eat up doubles like they should would IMO make us easily a top 3 defense instead of a top 6-7. Our biggest issue on defense besides one on one situations on the edges was the runs up the middle. Wilfork was not able to control the double teams which didn't let our linebackers get free more easily. Clowney last season was one of the best LB in run defense (best on our team), with a true NT, just imagine his impact then
The biggest current issue on defense is not NT. It is the safety position(s). Right now the starters are Hal and Pleasant. Those should be backups not starters. This draft is so ripe with defensive linemen that it'd be stupid not to get your tackles and linemen this year.
We got Brock for a reason so we should give him a weapon or protection early. So best receiver available in the first then hope C Ryan Kelly or Hunter Henry (in that order) is there in the second. Third round we should go for a big safety like Jayron Kearse or Tyvis Powell. If Dak falls to the fourth, select him there. Most likely won't, we can get Cardale Jones. And from there bpa
Hal played very well as a safety, and NT is a big concern. We were one of the worst teams in defending runs up the middle this past season. Wilfork is getting worse and worse, and we have no potential replacement for him
I agree with this for the most part. I think our priorities should be: WR OL S DL in that order. I'm not sure why anyone is thinking we should draft a QB at all. We have our starter, our veteran backup, and our unproven project. We're in win now mode and don't really have time to give a rookie any on-the-job training.
