I like the show, but does anyone know what the plot is yet? With BB we knew he was selling meth to make money for his family before he died... In BCS? A lawsuit involving a retirement home?
Yeah, I agree I think you'd have to like BrBa to like this... I personally love these shows lately though. Such great TV. it's worth a shot though, the cast is killing it.
dandorotik----any word on when we'll get to see Gustavo move into the picture? I suspect that he may actually have something to do with Hector being relegated to the wheelchair.
I just want to say that I am really enjoying all of you guys' great commentary on this thread. .. The thing I like about this show is that all of the characters are 'watchable' unlike Breaking Bad. What I mean by that is on Breaking Bad there were a few characters that were just annoying to watch on screen either for poor acting or poor writing. For example Walt's wife (forgot her name :/) was my least favorite character on BB. Specially the season where she cheated on Walt with her boss. I started hating her character from that point. But with BCS all of the characters are well written and are like-able (even Chuck) and are a joy to watch on screen.
I'm guessing either Mike or Frang had something to do with it. Told my wife the same as we watched Mike meet with Hector.
Mike kills quite a lot of people in Breaking Bad. He tries to convince Walt to kill Jesse at one point.
I don't feel Better call saul is slow and boring. It keeps you interested in the characters. If You want a really slow show, try Bosch. Yikes. I still like Bosch but damn is it slow.
The person who thinks that Breaking Bad 'was kinda meh' doesn't understand much about what's a good show and what's a bad show. So, to answer your question, since the person in question doesn't have a clue, it could go either way - he might like Better Call Saul, or he might hate it.
I thought that Hector had ALS, and that was why he was in the wheelchair and couldn't speak. In the flashback episodes of Breaking Bad, Hector walked a little strange, indicating he was beginning to show signs of the disease. In this last episode of BCS, you had to look carefully, but Hector had trouble locating and picking up his coffee before he left the table, another sign of some motor skill issues.
I noticed this too but didn't realize the condition was the backstory of the character in BB nor do I remember them touching it. I though it was weird, his movements in BCS. I thought maybe the actor was just getting too old.
examples? I seriously don't recall. Seemed like Mike really liked his job as head of security and ruled without a gun, so to speak...getting others to do the dirty work to put himself at a distance ... like getting Walt to kill Jesse. I'm sure I'm forgetting some hits, though. Overall, seemed like the exact job his wants now, without being persuaded to do it against his will. I guess we'll maybe find he gets pushed into it, or something happens that makes him say "f.ck it" I'm breaking bad.
When I was at the Paley Festival, Vince Gilligan said he had a great opportunity to insert one of the major characters of Breaking Bad into the last episode of this season of Better Call Saul- he was initially very keen on it- but the writers and Peter Gould talked him out of it- and he ultimately agreed with them. They said it would have taken away from something else major that happens in the last episode of the season, and now that they've been renewed for a 3rd season, I suppose they'll bring this major character in during S3. Gus? Jesse? Walt? I would say it's probably in that order. I am almost certain there is one set of characters who will definitely show up in Better Call Saul at some point- the Vamonos Pest Control group. Remember, when they were scouting locations, Saul said that he's been "pulling their chestnuts out of the fire, legally speaking..." for some time, so I'm sure we'll get to see Todd (a.k.a Meth Damon a.k.a. Ricky Hitler) and his posse at some point.
Yeah, opinions are so overrated. Thanks for yours though. I'm out of TP so I'll just print this out for use.
