Yes, he stood there, and went on to oppose the plan. He wrote about it himself, saying that the bill was "complicated" and "compromised" and not something he could support. He went on to fight for a separate single payer plan that had zero chance of succeeding, at a time when the Clintons needed all the votes they could get. But that's Bernie for you. Always preferring to burn the whole thing down rather than make incremental progress.
Yup, it will be like this basically be that narrative every major voting day for Bernie if he survives today.
HaHa. Bernie has already won. The cat is out of the bag. Hillary might still run out the clock for the contented moderates of the mainstream and the ..1%. More and more folks are starting to get a taste of their power, get input outside the established press and will not be content with the costly useless middle men of the health insurance industry , albeit augmented and improved a bit by a complex Obamacare for some. They will no longer be content with a $7.25/hr minimum wage, huge college debt, and lol the voodoo of trickle down and tax breaks for the 1%. or the logic of endless wars for regime change etc. Bernie has already won and keeps winning bigger every day.
His ideas are taboo to much of the Democratic Party, much less uneducated working-class white males. When he can win them over, then I think you can raise the "Mission Accomplished" banner.
Game was already over math-wise for Bernie a while back. But for the same reason, Trump is nowhere near a sure thing. It's going to be difficult for him to grab a majority of delegates, and with the way voting works and delegates are selected, a 2nd voting of voting could be complete chaos - a large chunk of the Trump delegates are likely to not actually be huge Trump fans. And when they are released to vote for anyone, there's a decent chance Trump loses support in each round of voting.
Who knows. Could be two of them. Lying sociopath vs. lying sociopath opens the door for all kinds of fun.
Congratulations to Bernie Sanders for fighting the good fight for liberals and progressives everywhere, but after tonight, unless there is some shocking reversal, Hillary has this nomination in the bag. We will see a moderate Democrat running against whoever comes out of the Republican convention. Like Major, I think there is still the chance that Trump won't have a majority of delegates. If that happens, the convention could turn into a wild and crazy free for all, something we haven't seen in American politics for decades. Heck, a dark horse could come out with the nomination. Someone who wasn't even running. I'm kinda hoping it plays out that way. As someone with a long interest in politics, the mere thought of a contested convention has me excited. The Republican Party has gone mad!
