Or just be a tad more patient and maybe give him more than 5 minutes of playing time?

I mean is it really that difficult to give the post opportunities that Dwight receives to Dmo? However, Dwight is much stronger than Dmo and is able to establish a post position much easier than Dmo, so I guess that is a large factor in why we post a stiff like Dwight way more than a much more cerebral post player like Dmo.

Not necessarily true because technically Beasley is a power forward. He's just undersized. He played him a lot.

D-Mo's trajectory has always been to play the 5 in order to produce offensively. As a 4, he was never really going to stand out in this system. I've said it for years. That being said, I still think he can be an adequate option for the Rockets at the 4 in a traditional lineup. Its just when teams go small, the Rockets welcome it with open arms and match up.

What D-Mo needs to do now is continue to improve defensively going into this last stretch of the season enough to be the sole big in a small ball lineups. That's where he can be the "x factor" or whatever. That's his impact in short term as well as potentially giving the Rockets a good traditional look when they go against big lineups.

Long term if he's resigned his POTENTIAL can be to eventually replace Dwight as the 5 if he walks along with Capela & hopefully sign/trade for another big in the rotation who can defend & rebound. But all of this... everything I just talked about above, relies on him staying healthy and improving defensively. He's already showing some signs of improvement from when he first came back, but he can still get better.

His offensive involvement will take care of itself and will dramatically impact the team in small ball lineups as the 5.

Hah - no it is because JBB has no clue how to use him, and the org has pretty much moved on.

Posting up DMo would take away touches from Howard whom they are going to try to keep, if they can.

This whole year has been about politics.....on the team and due to contracts etc - Thornton and Lawson taking away touches from Harden...nope, can't have that, Dmo taking touches away from Howard....nope, know your place young man....it is one big chemical spill.

Such a crap year - team filled with all stupid player, no BBall IQ - lousy effort, poor chemistry - weak coaching.....yuck.

Motiejunas is a good defender, also at the PF position.
I challenge people to re-watch the first quarter of yesterday. The decision of subbing Motiejunas after the first 4 minutes is ridicoulous, at anyway you look at it:

    - He's not direct nor indirect responsible of any Hornets' basket, asides from a long 2 at the buzzer by Marvin Williams where Donatas recieves a moving screen from Zeller that could have been an offensive foul. Ariza, Beverley, Howard, are directo or indirect responsibles of the other baskets. Watch it play by play and tell.

    - Ofensively the team is playing well, scoring its first 10 points down the rim. Our size is doing damage to the Hornets, we get 2 offensive rebounds, and all our 10 points are scored by Howard+DMo.

    - Motiejunas is replaced by Beasley (...) So the Rockets are gettind scored, and apparently is Motiejunas' fault, because he's the only one replaced. So are u guessing that your defensive issues are going to be solved with Beasley?? Of course, Charlotte scores now even easier than with Motiejunas (who was doing an OK defensive job), but now we stop attacking properly and you start watching bad shots, bad spacing, turnovers, easy transition baskets... and a 9-21 run with DMo on the bench.

And he never comes back to the game. Rockets recieve 125 points. Tell me Motijeunas was the dfeensive problem

And offensivley we miss 21 threes... We scored 10 points in the paint in 4 minutes with Motiejunas + Howard. Then you gotta see how Marvin Williams posts up Beverley and McDaniels, after he was the one getting punished by DMo at the beginning.

Absolutely atrocious coaching decision. And if I'm Donatas, today I would be seriously pissed with my coach after what yesterday happened.

I wish he would be a bit more selfish and speak in the media about what is going on, he has nothing to lose, the org clearly doesn't value him any longer - he should just call out the team - maybe it would light a fire under them if they are shamed in the media.

He was moving well yesterday had 2 boards, 4 points in 4 minutes.....and was playing good solid D, and out he comes...it is almost as if Morey has told JBB to play him and then JBB does it, then wants to get others in as quickly as possible....ignoring DMo.....it is like DMo is a rookie again and last year never happened.

JBB is a crappy coach - just not ready.

There's no question that DMo got JBB'd last night, but when you have a garbage coach like that, you just have to deal with it sometimes.

Is JBB's post game press conference available anywhere? Did any reporter ask what happened and why Dmo sat?

    Found it!

Just 15 minutes for Beasely last night and he was 6-9 fg scoring with 15pts. So between DMO and Beasely the PF position played 19 minutes out of 48.

This drives me nuts, we are now adjusting to other teams strengths rather than playing ours.

If they go small, we can go BIG and pound them inside, why play their game?

DMO posted up with a mini dream shake scoring a bucket and then he had a nice tap in off a rebound at the start of the game (his legs looked springy) and then he gets pulled. I seriously thought JBB would have rolled with him seeing that DMO was on last night while trying to build your starting PFs confidence for down the stretch. Just being objective is all.

Agree to a certain extent DD. What would be interesting Lineup is possibly throwing out on the court Beasley, DMO, Harden, Ariza and Brewer with Harden playing the PG. Only problem is Harden checking the opposing teams PG on defense then you might have to cross check between Brewer and Harden on defense. Or just simply substituting Beverly for Brewer. JBB likes his small so maybe try that without the big rebounder in Howard and Capela.

Why are two of you ignoring Harrell's 12 minutes? Not trying to say anything about JBB as the three still don't add up to 48 minutes, or why he'd play Brewer 27 minutes for 21 points on 9-15 shooting to help dig us out of a 1st Q hole.

I'm just wondering why you ignored Harrell like that? Guess leaving out his 12 minutes make for more of a shocker post, 'eh.

Going small got us in that 1st Quarter hole.

    Wrong again.

Beasley subbed in for DMo. Either Howard or Capela played the entire Q. Brewer subbed for Ariza late in the Q. You're just making **** up again. We did not go small at all in the 1st Q. We rarely ever do.

I actually like that Harrell got minutes and to be honest, it was Beasley's minutes that were bad for the team despite the scoring. The team had an advantage when they went big, but they chose to go small anyway and it cost them.

The team had a horrible first Q. They did not go small in the first, at all. Brewer got hot in the second to help bring them back.
