Anyone goto Houston Baptist University? I know some of you go to/went to the University of Houston (central). I plan on transfering to one of the two and im not sure which i'm leaning toward yet. HBU requires a double major so hmmm! Also I decided to trash the education major and hook up with political science. Pros and Cons please about each.
I remember back when I was in high school, HBU was known as "Hindu-Buddhist University." There was a myth among Asians that HBU would inflate your GPA, making medical school admissions easy.
Last I heard, HBU requires students to do a certain number of community service hours per quarter and attend a weekly prayer service. As you mentioned, HBU requires a double major, but due to the quarter (as opposed to semester) system you should be able to finish on time. HBU is also expensive. Positives, HBU is a small school so it is very difficult to not be involved in something. By senior year, you will know everyone in the graduating class. HBU is smaller than some high schools in the Houston area (attendance wise).
I'm a poli sci major (junior) at UH right now. Unlike most people, I like it here. I live on campus, and am very involved with the school. What is it you want to know specifically?
Well, HBU recently finished #1 in the NAIA college basketball rankings, so they can probably beat the UH basketball team...
Yeah right. The best player on HBU wouldn't be worthy of washing the worst UH player's jock strap. There is a reason why they're playing NAIA ball.
I am a junior sports administration major at U.H. I love the school and I am in a fraternity, so I'm pretty involved on campus. I can also let you know anything about the school you want to know.
It's there for those who want to participate. Which is one of the things I like about it. If you want to be all into school spirit, get involved, ect.. it's there for you, but if that's not your thing, they're cool with that.
