Sanders spent his honeymoon in the USSR.

I'm surprised that this line of attack at Sanders hasn't come sooner. This is exactly the line of attack that the GOP will take against Sanders if he takes the lead in primaries and becomes the Dem nominee.

This is also one reason why I put little stock in polls saying Sanders will beat the Republican nominee. The Republicans will go very hard at Sanders and portray him as a radical Marxist, not just Democratic Socialist.

If you think they'll go after Bernie (they will) and his skeletons (a few), how many skeletons do you think the Clintons have provided?!?!

They'll fire nerf bullets at Bernie which can be easily swatted. They'll fire hellfire missles at the Clintons from all directions. She's toast.

I don't know if you've been watching the Republican debates but they've already been firing missiles at Clinton and have been doing so for a long time.

Haven't seen anything yet... I'm telling you she will age 10 years this summer dealing with all of it.

I should point out, I'm against that kind of debate and attacks but this country and it's media are crazy. The Kardashians are our first family, that's all anyone needs to know.

Clinton has been the GOP target of hatred for 24 years now. She is completely defined in just about everyone's eyes. If you like her now, you probably still will no matter what. If you dislike her now, there's not much that will convince you otherwise. Bernie is much more of a wildcard - in both a good and bad way, depending on what narrative takes hold with him.

They don't have anything new on Clinton. She won't be dealing with anything that she hasn't been dealing with for a long time.

Was probably a pretty cool trip. Amazing museums and history there.

Whatever the GOP has on Sanders, they have 10x worse on Clinton. She has a lot of baggage and it is one of the reasons she is doing so poorly with independents.

If it's the reason she's doing so poorly with independents, then it's already out there. The issue here is stuff that's can change people's minds from here.

Emailgate, Deletegate, and the FBI investigation are new Clinton scandals. Especially the FBI investigation because that's ongoing and curiously very quiet. The FBI could change people's minds.

Sure, but there are 50 things before that from Filegate to Whitewater to TravelGate to Vince Foster to Benghazi and on. If people came to terms being OK with her from all that, these new ones are just going to be looked as more of the same. If they didn't like her for all that stuff, then this is just going to reinforce that. But none of it is really likely to flip people over at this point - people's minds are made up on Clinton. She's just been in the spotlight too long.

That Daily Beast article is actually frightening - I was incredulous as I read on wondering if the hits would ever stop. This isn't a case of one or two interviews out of context... It is a long history of actively supporting socialist regimes, attending anti-American rallies, defending suppression of the press, playing Cuban and Nicaraguan shows on public access TV in Vermont (what the actual...???!!)

All of that stuff and much worse is already out there. These things have been brought up in the Republican debates.

Further I find it ironic that you say you're against that type of campaign yet cited that yourself earlier

As I've said before there is a lot of stuff out there about Clinton but elections aren't run with theoretical or idealized candidates. The GOP will most likely be fielding a candidate that many even in their own party hate.

I think it should come as no surprise that Sanders in his younger days romanticized Marxist movements. I think he has done a good job though defining himself away from that and has staked out a credible claim as a Democratic Socialist. The Republicans though probably won't see it that way.

Also just to note for all those who continue to think that the Clinton campaign will do or say anything to win will note they haven't attacked Sanders on this. Whether they are doing so because they think it might hurt them later or that it isn't worth it to do so not sure. I don't think the GOP will feel any restraint on that though.

Which is why his response last night bothers me so much. There was no attempt to say "no, I don't still feel the same way about the totalitarian communists in Cuba". His entire shtick has always been about ideological purity and historical consistency. The unmistakable implication is that, at his core, Bernie does believe in the "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" maxim. An outsider could be forgiven for hearing him speak and thinking this man believes Wall Street shouldn't exist, being a billionaire is a crime against humanity and our constitutional structures need changing to support these goals.

I'm not saying that's necessarily true, but I can't say I don't have doubts now.

Why would any of that matter compared to Trump? Dude is promoting straight up fascism.

Bernie should come right out and say the forces of the 1% are going to portray any outrageous thing they can to disparage me so that you continue to vote against you own best interest. Whatever they say, you should come to me for a direct, non-evasive quote on my current philosophies and positions.

As the focus of a national dialog it might work, though again, the 1% owns the media and the public will have all claims against him in bold print and his response on page 6.

All of those old Clinton scandals you guys are bringing up were before the 24 hour news cycle, social media, and a computer in everyone's hand. It's different now.
