Hopefully BOB doesn't bench him for Hoyer and cause him to get pissed off and end up on the Ravens.....

I don't know if this qualifies as taking a risk. He has been a backup to Manning for a few years, and played average for the Broncos last year. Risk would be going after Kappernick or RG III, or moving up to draft a qb. This is a pretty safe signing, cause there is low risk that he'll suck.
I'll get over BOB's incompetence handling QB's when he does a good job of it. Hopefully he is better this time around.
Broncos are going to draft Lynch and he's going to end up being better than Brock. Hopefully the Texans have found that adequate QB they desperately need. This will allow them to focus on other things this draft as well. Kind of excited.

I think it's a pretty big risk. Likely huge money for a guy with 7 career starts and passing on 1st round QB. It's a risk. Let's say he flops and some team in the low 20s takes Paxton Lynch and he becomes a star. Texans will never live it down.
Passing on what was likely the 3rd of 4th best QB in the draft in what is widely considered a weak QB draft. I am not going to say he is the answer but hes better than what our realistic options were for the draft.
