How difficult is it for you to ASK someone for something?
    A Favor? Money? Promotions? Anything?

    Not BEG
    Just to simply Ask.

I was listening to this tape and it was talking about
how most times. . . people just don't ASK for what they want

I know it is extremely difficult for me.
I try to never Need anything. If I cannot do it myself. . . I do without
I generally try to do it myself.

Only thing I can ask for a bit easily . . . is knowledge and information.

Asking for a promotion/raise was easy for me.

Money: wouldn't be easy at all.

Favor: depends who it is and what the favor is. Like you, I try to do things myself but favors from friends and family should be ok, generally speaking.

I don't ask for the things I should. It's just too much like the one thing I really, really hate: confrontation. This is why I'm not likely to get anywhere in life. :(

Burns: I'll have my lunch now. A single pillow of Shredded Wheat, some steamed toast, and a dodo egg.

Homer: But I think the dodo went extinct...

Burns: Get going! And answer those phones, install the computer system, and rotate my office so the window faces the hills.

Homer: Uh huh. Uh huh. Okay. Um, can you repeat the part of the stuff where you said all about the... things. Uh... the things?

Then only people I ever ask to do me favors are my parents or grandparents and they're always willing to help so I don't mind asking.

    Actually,

This is a very valid point. I have ZERO problem asking for something.

That is how I got my company, and tons of free stuff.

Just yesterday I got 3 proffesional video cards from NVIDIA...the Quadro 3000s. Valued at over $2300 a piece....all of them FREE !!

    Just by asking.......

    I love this job !!

For me, it depends on the situation. Sometimes it is really easy (politely asking for an upgrade, for a nice room, whatever). Sometimes it is difficult (depending on the situation it sometimes could be difficult with girls I really liked).

    Good topic for a thread.

I am an extremely generous person, so I have no problem with asking for what I want.

I *really* dislike asking for anything from anyone, unless they're my parents. I'm stubborn/stupid that way.

Typically, if you don't ask, you don't get. No problem for me usually.

I've always generous enough trying to help out others whenever possible, just in case one day I need a favor from them... as a result, I don't feel guilty/find it difficult to ask for help... well, still depends on what & who it is...

I'm the same, except I also don't like asking my parents for anything, either.

I'm in the same boat as you RR, I'm slowly changing though. It's kinda fun. Time for some payback on those punks always asking for stuff!
