Dude. That sucks. For a "critical jab," that takes too much of a "shot" at Steve's character for my tastes. These are things you don't know about him, that right now, don't need to be insinuated.
AstroRocket, I'll speak my mind when I think the Texans, Astros, Comets or Rockets are not playing up to their potential. Think I'm all "negative and all? You haven't seen me at a Rocket/Comet game! Francis, could. I say, COULD play at the same level as Isiah and Payton. Not necessarily as dominant. But just as competent and efficient. He's not. Therefore, I'll jab! I'm mean, he has the athletic ability. But I'm not sure his mind is in it. It could be elsewhere (regarding the ps2/hummer, or the ladies, or the clubs...etc...whatever). Want to win? He has to give himself 100%, completely, and totally to the game! PERIOD!!!! He'll either has to make up his mind to dedicate himself, or quit wasting the fans time.
Didn't say that. Don't think that. I can understand where you're coming from. You just really want us to win. So do I. I just think we shouldn't make unsubstantiated statements questioning our players' dedication to their sport and lifeblood, whether in jest or not. It just isn't right. If we had some real evdence that Steve was that kind of person, then fine, have at it. But as it is, we don't, and that statement comes off to me as mean spirited and morally wrong. We shouldn't just make up stuff about our players because it helps us prove a point. That's the only beef I have. Otherwise, you're just like any other fan on this board. You really want us to win, and you have your own theories on how we can do so. (Though yours are particularly crazy, old-school, "Kill the players with endless practice" theories ) It's all good.
Possibly someday JVG will bring us to the promised land. Where we are no longer the "best team who didn't make the playoffs", but the glorious "worst team to make the playoffs"
They haven't even put on thier new uniforms or walked on the court yet and all of this pre-judgement. First of all, everyone that's is praising JVG's tough talk, remember this is the same coach that just walked out on his former team. Second, how many of you REALLY wanted him to come here when Larry Brown and other coaches were still options. Third, and someone already said this early on the board, and I fully agree, you can't have chemestry if your coach is talking about you to the media and the season hasn't even started, that has to be done in house.
Yeah, maybe. Or sorta. I'll try to interpret your post with this -- I wanted JVG, even over LB. He has a 'pass' for leaving the Knicks, a team which always had winning chemistry under him. JVG's teams played hard and smart. They won. They were intense -- like their coach. Their talent was suspect.
