Yao was a number one pick. So you agree we need to tank next year...

We have the dumbest fans in all of basketball. Can't believe there are as many people as there are that want to trade Harden. He's literally the only guy on the team worth a damn. Beverley is ok, Ariza is a negative offensively, and Howard thinks he is better offensively than he is. Harden is our ONLY consistently good offensive player. The rest are extremely inconsistent and to add to it, the ones that are inconsistent aren't even all that defensively (Ariza excluded but even he has regressed some).

I'm truly ashamed of our fans.

As for the actual thread, obviously we need to rebuild around Harden. He's gotten us to the playoffs every season he has been here and is undoubtedly one of the top 5 players in basketball.

How can you say this? You sound dumb

Undoubtedly one of the top 5?

Curry, Lebron, Durant are on a different tier and Kawhi is a clearly better all round player.

Then you have guys like Westbrook, CP3, AD etc

I'd like to think of those people are player-only fans or trolls from other teams.

What I think is not important but I guess Morey's job is close to being void.

The next few years barring a superstar or couple of stars joining

The new GM would have to convince ownership to stick to the tanking plan for couple of seasons.

People that do not believe in Defense are dumb.

Guys like Duncan won championships because of their D.

i thought that's what they were doing already. =)

get defensive shooting guard that doesn't shoot or require ball.
get defensive center that doesn't shoot or require ball
get defensive forwards that don't shoot or require ball.
    # the new pursuit.

No team will ever win a ring with Harden as the first option.

I don't see us doing anything major unless Harden finally starts seeing the position he's in and how great he could be. Wishful thinking though, not many guys just suddenly get it.

This team reminds me of the Texans when Schaub started throwing pick 6's every game. Except its 3pt shots that go the other way on fast breaks.

We have a small core to build around. Harden, Ariza, Beverly, Capela, Harrell.
Would love to keep DMO if we can.

Everyone else can go. Jones, Brewer, Terry, Smith, and Dwight all can go.

All you need to do is trade away the expensive players for picks, tank, and you get a first-round pick this year and a top 5 pick next year. You have to get Harden to buy in - he will do it because the team will be re-engineered to be build around him and his talents. You tell him next year we just want you to get better, don't worry about winning, just become a better player.

In 2017, you will have a lot of young talent in Capela, Dekker - you can keep Ariza (but might have to trade him as he is one of the few assets people would value), you can keep Beverly. But everyone else has to go.

You the add a first rounder this year, and a top 5 pick next year, along with 2 max contracts at the end of the 2017 season to that group of Harden, Capela, Dekker, Ariza, and Bev - that's 9 players right there, and you get a few vets to provide support and you got a great team.

Everyone should be tradeable besides Harden. I think Capela and a package/salary fillers could get you a star potentially. If the Kings finally decide they want to move on with Cousins, that would be my first option. Harden, Cousins, Durant is a legitimate monster core to build around.

I love what DMo did last year but I would only bring him back with a cheap, incentive loaded contract.

Seriously stop it! Harden doesn't have horrible games every week. He isn't perfect (no player is) and criticism of Harden at times is warranted but statements like yours make you look like the biased one and a hater. Yes he started the year horribly (he was injured over the summer too, which might have had something to do with his start) but he has been AMAZING for months now. It's time people moved on from how he started the year and acknowledged what this guy is doing (often times having to do it 1v5).

The real problem is, he doesn't have much help. Who is a real second option on this team? Just look at every other team that is considered a contender (or playoff team). They all either have multiple playmakers that can take over ball-handling responsibilities to take some pressure off each other and/or have multiple players that can take over a game by scoring the ball. The Rockets have neither - They have Harden, THAT IS IT - and opposing defenses know this.

I don't know what you are watching but it couldn't be more obvious that when Harden sits, this team's offense is HORRIBLE. 99,9% of the time, a lead will be lost, a small deficit turns into a blowout. You don't have to look further than the last two games. Thankfully JB played Harden the entire second half of the game or the outcome would have been a different one.

Harden is a willing passer and will find the right guys at the right time. Corey got hot last night and what do you know?! The ball finds him every time. Players need to hit their open shots. There is no other way to put it. If they don't, yes there will be more ISO plays by Harden and I can't blame him. Who else on this team do you trust to take over with the ball-handling, to carry the load offensively and to bail them out? Dwight, for a while there yesterday, set better picks than I have seen him do in a long time and moved better under the basket and what do you know?! Easy baskets for him.

As for Dwight, this is what he needs to do every game. You should go to him in the post only if ABSOLUTELY necessary. The guy has it some nights and doesn't on other nights. When he posts up and hoists up one of his hook shots - it is cringe-worthy. He just does not have a feel for the ball. Sometimes he will throw the ball at the backboard aimlessly or if he takes the shot from the side of the basket, will miss his target entirely. All he should be doing is; Screen hard and roll harder and clean up misses!! He still has something left in the tank. He is still a solid defender - that is about it though. He doesn't finish in traffic the way he used to; he still commits dumb and untimely fouls; he still can't hit FTs; he is not very good at passing the ball out of the post; when he attempts his post moves he is TO-prone and doesn't hit those shots at a high clip. I like Dwight, I really do, but sadly he is NOT a game changer anymore.
