I think the problems go higher than Mack Brown. I think Karma gets hold of that institution and takes it down a peg in order to soften the enormous ego that University, as an institution, has. But that's just my theory.
Craig James had something to say, Ft. Worth Telegram, everyone. Same things really. Terrance Newman said that all Roy runs is "6 routes." >Comments from John McClain (HouChron) on 610AM > >McClain is the veteran NFL writer for the HouChron. This was his >commentary >on the Horns game on 610am this morning. > >Said he was watching the game with three NFL scouts. They were >astonished. > >1. They counted 16 of Roy's routs were of 6 yards or less. When you have >the best player in college FB matched up against 5'9" corners, you don't >run >6 yard routes. That was total personnel mismanagement. > >2. We continue to work the horizontal passing game when we get in the red >zone. That's working with an arm tied behind our back because the short >field bunches up the secondary. Bad Coaching. > >3. This will sound familiar: The scouts said that they have never seen a >NFL-level talent regress as bad as Cedric has. They can't understand it. >Is it a piss poor attitude? Frustration over the OL? Poor coaching? > >4. A defense that has 3 to 4 first round picks in it should not be >continually run over. That puts a black mark on the marketability of >people like DJ and Vasher because it makes a team wonder if the player has >a >winner's attitude to go with their physiques. > >5. Scouts said that Texas may have the worst OL in all of football. The >only way we EVER do anything right is sheer luck or via a talent mismatch. >Outside of that, we are the worst of the worst. > >6. Its one thing to get out coached by Bob Stoops, but there seems to be a >list developing of people that are out coaching Mack. Add Nutt to that >list. That's not a great sign. > >7. The scouts and McClain agreed that this is probably a 4 loss team >when you look at our schedule. > > >8. L. Richardson was out of the game for a lot of the time with a gimpy >ankle. Why did we not attack his replacement? He did not think we ever >did. We always went after "bat man."
Yes, he said it. They published that quote in the Daily Texan too - the school newspaper. He also said that he didnt believe that they were not gonna win until the game is over.... I'm dumbfounded by the whole situation. Mack Brown needs get his head out from his behind and just play Young. We could have won that game, but coach was playing ostrich and didnt play Vince. If that isnt grounds for a serious beat down, i dont know what is.
