Remember this doozie of a thread? http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=260764&highlight=Houston+Texans+Rockets My how things have changed in the last 5 months....LMAO Man the Rockets are Turrible.
Is little sabonis still regarded as an GOAT prospect? I'd be interested in drafting him if he still is. so maybe the season isn't a total disaster.
So someone mentioned in another thread there was a rift between Thornton and Harden. Anyone know what happened?
Correct. We have 22 more games to watch this team fumble ***** through. Sucks to be in this position after so much buildup. Add a point guard. Add a gunner. Get Bev and DMO back. A healthy dwight and it all added up to a giant pile of cat sh**. Unreal
Like the 1982-83 Rockets, who compiled a 14-68 record? The team that was supposed to lose after trading Moses Malone to the Philadelphia 76ers? Actually, I would say that the 1986-87 season was really a disaster when the Rockets lost their entire starting back court (Lewis Lloyd and Mitchell Wiggins) to drug abuse. For the next five seasons, they were either first-round fodder from the playoffs or missed the playoffs altogether. That was a period of rebuilding and finding a formidable back court to enable them to be relevant in the playoffs and win those championships in 1994 and 1995. As for this season, a disaster would be if we saw the same kind of thing happen to this current squad like what happened to that 1986-87 squad imo. I only consider it disappointing because with the same players from last season's squad that reached the WCF, they're playing way below everyone's expectations. The 1977-78 Rockets' season could also be considered a disaster as well, which was marred by Rudy Tomjanovich being punched in the face by Kermit Washington, and then him never being the same player after that, which I feel cut his playing career short. That season, the Rockets, without Rudy Tomjanovich's leadership, would only win 28 games (Good for a last-place finish in the Central Division) after winning 49 games the previous season and taking the Philadelphia 76ers to six games in that ECF. I wonder if the Rockets in at least the next six subsequent seasons after that season could have won more games than they did if Rudy Tomjanovich wasn't punched in the face at all like he was let alone as to the number of games that 1977-78 Rocket squad wound up winning.
These assets lost for nothing, Parsons, T. Jones (probable), D-Mo (probable), Dwight (probable) and the 2016 first (probable). Now Morey is going to enter the offseason in desperation mode, which should make every Rockets' fan extremely nervous.
Don't worry guys, the Rockets will turn it around any day now. Have faith in the process. In Maury we trust. Le$ is a great owner. #Pursuit
I've not felt this disgusted with the Rockets since the Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley days. Even last year, the hero ball, bad shooters constantly jacking up 3s and no offensive flow was not really fun to watch and brought bad memories of ISO ball. You add this year's return to not playing defense and it's a disaster.
Morey is most dangerous when he's desperate. Let's not forget we were about to enter the 2013 season with this awesome squad Overrated/overpaid Lin Martin Raw Parsons Young inconsistent PPat Seldom used unproven backup Asik We were projected to win like 20 games. If there's one thing Morey is good at... It's fixing his mistakes. I'm excited to see what he does this off season.
Pretty much nothing has gone right for this team this season. The Euro player Morey coveted stayed Euro. Both backcourt upgrades Morey attempted has been waived. Both young power forwards Morey tried to groom have not had breakout seasons. Thankfully (?), none of these moves were so major that the team won't be able to right the ship next year. But for this year, outside of injuries, the worst case scenerio for these moves have unfolded.
I don't know about that. At least with "Yao breaks foot", you knew why you didn't succeed. I'm still not sure I know what happened this season. This season kind of felt like you were a kid heading into summer thinking you were going to Disneyworld, but your parents surprise you with a trip to Kroger instead.
