Was hoping Mad Max would win, but knew that was unlikely.

I thought Dave Grohl's rendition of Blackbird was excellent.

I'd argue that the lame asian bit qualified as miscommunication, personally.

As a white male from an industrialized country, I feel suitably chastened by tonight's Oscars. I hope all these millionaire actors and actresses can go back to living in their progressive self-sustainable cave systems feeling better now that they've made me aware how bad a person I am.

I highly disagree with this. To each their own though.

I really liked Spotlight. It was probably my favorite movie out of these nominees.

I thought Paul McCartney had died. I think a David Bowie song would have been more appropriate - Paul McCartney is still alive.

I was not planning on watching spotlight due to the content, had no interest, but after it won, I did watch it.

I liked the movie overall and think it deserved nominee. But what I would say is that the message of the movie wasn't so much about the catholic church and sexual abuse as it was about how the press works to evoke change. Think that story has been told before. Though I will give it credit for handling a tough subject and making it very watchable with regard to child abuse. And with that said, going back to what they accomplished, I was still left with one question, was that the story that ultimately led to the world wide scandal on the church all the way up to the Vatican? They hinted at it, but never really got there, kind of leaving it at the level of Boston.

Mad Max didn't break any story telling ground either, or deliver some epic message, but it was a good journey movie and thought the visual effects stunning.

So I feel as though both movies had already been told. In different and fun ways. But told before. And I'm still looking for something new. And hoping for that.

She went on some show and criticized black history month which no one liked. Then when she got on stage at the oscars, she said "happy black history month" which was met with defeaning silence

How did Amy win best doc over The Look Of Silence??? Please, someone explain!!! I thought Chris Rock did a good job. He kept the show rolling, a little dry parts here and there but it definitely kept the show on its toes for the most part.

Because there's more to a movie rather than an individual performance and how a scene is constructed/camera-work..... and mainly that one facet is the story, for which Spotlight did justifiably win the original screenplay award.
