My Internet Explorer all of a sudden went ****e on me. Last night, I was browsing and when scrolling it just got real choppy. It also is choppy while in the Windows Explorer, i.e. when dragging open windows. It's not a HUGE problem but it is insanely annoying.

I've looked around for hours, installed new drivers, reinstalled Windows, turned on smooth scrolling, everything. Help.

What version of windows are you running?

Hopefully R2K will be here soon to help you out.

That's odd because I had a problem with IE last night too. I installed a program that caused IE to not open at all. All I did was restore my computer to the most recent point before it started screwing up. Try that....start-programs-accessories-system restore

Arghhh...I tried installing XP last night to fix it, and thats the earliest point it'll let me restore. Dang it.

edit: I have class in like 5 minutes, so I won't be able to respond for like another hour or so, but keep the advice coming. Thanks for y'alls help.

    Chicken,

It is doing that JUST in IE6 or with all your other programs too?

The first thing I would do is close all your progams and then hit ctrl-alt-delete. Should make your task manager pop up.

Click on the processes tab. See if there are any programs running that seem to be using a high % amount of the CPU. Your system idle process should be 90 or above.

Nothing worked. I'm just gonna put up with it I guess.

Thanks for all your help though :)

EDIT: yay, fixed it. The motherboard driver didn't install with the XP install, so I just had to whip out the mobo disk...thanks again everybody.
