I want Howard to re-sign at less than the max in Houston. Even, if he doesn't I think his move to get rid of the most powerful and manipulative/ biased NBA agent is great for the league.

This might prove to be a blow to the Mavericks in the future.

He fired Fegan because he couldn't get him out of Houston and/or Fegan wants him out of Houston.

I really believe Howard when he says he wants to stay in Houston. Would be awesome if he took less money to stay.

What I don't understand, when you are a star player you are going to get max money anyways so why even need a high priced agent? Same way I feel about a high priced realtor when I know my house can sell itself. I will take the Redfin agent any day.

Now Dwight's not going to get the ridiculous max of $30 mil but still he can probably get a 2 or 3 year deal in the $18-$20 mil range if he keeps improving the rest of the season and a strong postseason performance.

This is a step in the right direction. I am eyeing Durant, Horford, Harrison Barnes. Anyone else I am missing that we could "realistically" get under the salary cap assuming Dwight signs for $20mil or so?

it's about the endorsement deals more so than the contract obviously for a max player

I'm hoping he fired dan because he plans to stay in houston but who knows. Doesn't necessarily mean he's going to stay and take less.

As I said before I believe he will take his player option so don't go expecting him to take less to win championship this year. There are a few things that would make him sign for less without player option. Of course he gets an offer he can't refuse from another team would be one.

The only way he would sign for less is if he gets a decent long term contract with Houston for at least 3-4 years. Dwight knows his body is wearing down from his long NBA career so a longer term deal would be optimal for him for insurance in case he gets hurt.

I am expecting that he might resign for 4 years to a team at around 17 mil per.

In fact it could mean he wants more money and doesn't think Fegan can get it done

I doubt he's seeking a better agent to get bigger contract.

Maybe Dwight wants to negotiate his next contract all by himself and keep the money he would have paid Fegan.

I don't think he would mention the Rockets specifically if he didn't want to stay - I hope I'm right

I think Dwight will give a discounted rate of like 20-22 mill a year and I would take that.

I don't see Dwight wanting to move to a new city and start all over with proving himself to the fans, teammates etc. Ppl here really like him no matter what. The majority of the crowd and community embraces him.

How much money would Dwight need to take for the rockets to offer a max to Horford and Durant.

If the rockets could some how make it work

    Bev
    Harden
    Durant
    Horford
    Howard

    please God!

Hopefully Dwight doesn't sign with Rich Paul. If he did, we would know....nothing but the Benjamins.

But canning Fegan the anti-Christ....awesome. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

I'm hoping this is a positive for him and for the Rockets.
