Ah ok, well it's official, you are grasping at straws here. First and foremost, DMo could HAVE been cleared to play full contact bball and still have underlying issues. One thing does not necessarily exclude the other. You're inferring things from data not present. We don't know what Detroit is exactly worried about here.

Also, you're linking data and conclusions. Two different professionals can look at the same data and draw different conclusions. The Rockets doctors could have uncovered the SAME data as the Detroit ones but concluded that it isn't a major risk factor. That doesn't mean one set of doctors is necessarily better than another. You want to cast the Rockets staff as villains and you're cherry picking the data you want to show, and inferring facts not necessarily present.

Well the worst one for Morey would be if he traded away 2 productive players and a 2nd round pick for a late first round pick and DMo ends up being healthy long term. That would be by far the worst for Morey because it makes him look incompetent.

If DMo is damaged goods and he got caught trying to ship him out and it fails, it's still bad because it puts the Rockets in the luxury, but it makes Morey look smart.

Woj had a podcast with some assistant GMs around the league and there was a clear consensus that some GMs are avoided because of reputation.

Trying to trick a team into taking damaged goods certainly doesn't help that fact.

In which one do the Rockets get something back that isn't a broken Dmo?

That's true, he has a bad reputation, but that bad reputation is for him being a good GM. It's sort of bad for a good reason.

Very few good things can come from the trade being overturned. With Detroit losing their last two since the trade, I'm sure they're less inclined to want to give up that pick.

I think all parties have acknowledged that he's "damaged goods". The Pistons certainly did, even when they were excited about having him. From what I see, that fact is beyond question. Rather, it is a question of degree.

Well in the scenario where DMo is fine long term the Rockets get back a late first round pick. That's probably not nothing (unless it's used on the next Royce White), but nowhere near as good as what they shipped out.

One of them was the Rockets assistant GM. I doubt he or the others were talking about the Rockets. They were talking about avoiding because you know the other isn't serious or is trying to sell the trade to another team or wasting time or leaking stuff.
The two teams that had been selling on purpose damaged goods, Philly and OKC don't seem to have any trouble making trades with other teams.

I clearly said Thorton was just one of them...not the only. That is in line with what JBB said in plural.

And Thornton getting sporadic minutes is also consistent with being a player who is playing for the wrong reasons ,,, ie a contract. And then traded. Followed by his negative comments about the rockets, which most players choose not to make after trades

    Why not trade Terry instead?

But more than that was the eye test. You could see Thornton playing for himself in January. Mosy BBS was either too busy focusing on Harden and Brewer to notice, or are posters who dont subscribe to the blame game and post about other things

remember that time nothing particularly significant happened but clutchfans jumped to conclusions and whipped itself into a hysteria

After tonight it's 2 wins out their last 10 games & currently on a 5 game losing streak. The Pistons might value their pick more now...

I dislike the fact that there are only to outcomes to Motiejinas for you. The outcome where he truly is broken or the outcome where he becomes this vastly great player that will be so hard to replace.

What about the outcome where he becomes a back up big for the Pistons? Does that scenario not exist to you?

Swap TJones with DMo and call it a deal.

What did Thornton say? I tried looking. But couldn't find anything.

I mentioned a while back that maybe JB wasn't playing him because he was probably an issue off the court for the coaching staff.

Thornton is likely a selfish player who bounces around the league. When players like Foye, Morrow, Young, Lou, Crawford, Mayo and others can get a decent multi year contract, but Thornton can't then it shows you a hint. He is a talented player who can score and create for himself plus others yet he can't seem to lock himself up to one team since his last deal with Sacramento.

    Ya!

I'll even drive TJones to the airport, fly to Detroit and make sure he passes the physical in time.
