They have impact players locked into favorable contracts as well. Portland also runs an unselfish system with a lot of offensive movement and pick and rolls. Many of the players are still very young and raw, so they still have the obstacle of player development standing in their way, but so far the improvement curve of this season has done everything to dismiss concerns about NBA readiness for some of the players.

The way the Blazers, Mavs, and Rockets are all playing, there's a far better chance of Portland vs San Antonio in Round 1. Who would've ever predicted that last summer? And how epic would that matchup be?
