This is about the Rockets getting a 1st round pick for a player they were not going to resign.

 

No, it was about Les being a cheapskate and getting out of the luxury. It cost a 2nd rounder to dump the garbage Detroit sent us, it would have been far too expensive to dump the garbage we had on our team already like Jones or Brewer. This move was 100% about the luxury.

 

sooooo... ummm is KJ going to get minutes now Thornton is gone? why is he still here otherwise

 

KJ will still be glued to the bench while JB continues to play Brewer heavy minutes.

Can't believe we still have Lawson, Brewer, and Jones on the team

 

Looks to me outside of the Sixers and Brooklyn the Pistons schedule will be no cake walk and I'm sure the rockets brass looked at that schedule intently. Pistons have 15 home games and 13 away. Need Drummond to go down LOL. Would love that pick to be inside 14 and obviously above 8.

 

Seriously, it's the most depressing part of the trade deadline. Useful players got moved for nothing and that garbage is still sitting around.

So let me get this straight. We are still stuck with jones, and f!cking corey brewer? We trade two guys for a first round pick and joel Anthony? We couldn't acquire ONE single player of use? Are you fricking serious. Unbelievable. This is just unbelievable

I never understood how protected picks work. So are we guaranteed to get a 1-8 pick or if the pick goes 1-8 we lose it?

 

Don't forget that we also shipped out a 2nd round pick to get rid of Joel Anthony so really we shipped out our best bench scorer, our only starting caliber PF, and a 2nd rounder for a late first round pick and to get under the luxury.

Yeah, that's a team that a FA wants to head to.

I'm somewhat okay with giving away the 2nd round pick. They aren't locked into a contract like first round picks are, meaning that a high second round pick could negotiate for a sizable chunk of a team's MLE in the future.

Sad to see DMo go. And TJones' useless self is still here?! Really felt the Harden-DMo PNR was the one chance we had at salvaging anything this season.

Hopefully JB stops trying to showcase Brewer and starts Capela or Smith instead.
